Thx to The South Stags for an honest appraisal. I do believe that I learned a thing or two.

Good luck. I don't say that because I think you need it, but rather because, with a break or two, you could win.

I agree. Your chances are slim.

The question then slides to The Cross Chargers & In Your Face. Will they agree to TIE or fight to win, like real basketball teams? (I once had a team ask me to mutual TIE in the USA Cup Finals !! - Good Grief !! )

Team-to-Team arrangements about effort in competitive games should be banished, even if it would be hard to enforce. That's bush-league BS ...

When the game is of little or no meaning, there is no reason why owners should not confer & come to agreements about how best to approach the game, with an eye towards benefiting both teams as much as possible. This parallels pro teams talking to each other about strategy & lineups prior to pre-season games. But, when it comes down to serious, consequential games, there is no place for owner-to-owner agreements (or discussion) about lineups &/or effort.

I don't mean to single out In Your Face or The Cross Chargers. Being around since Season 9, I've learned that most owners make all sorts of sordid arrangements. I think BB would be way better off with an official policy against effort/lineup arrangements in competitive games ...

Exactly how you define "competitive games" is beyond me

So Dmitri, I hear you are saying you would like to have a mutual TIE in the final next week?

So, there were no pre-game messages. so a pure competitive game
I am certainly disappointed with the perfomance of my guys, we have missed a unique oportunity
But, anyway congrats to CChargers and Delta9! you can now agree a MCT

congrats indeed to the Chargers and Delta -- glancing over the history of the Cup, no non-NBBA squad has ever won the Cup, so i am glad to see that streak intact.

on a different topic -- i am guessing Tucumcari has been training GS, maybe for a couple of weeks. (that plus HCA for the playoffs makes for a literally unbeatable combination.) if this is true, i am trying to figure out Cipriani's story, who is notable for having an inept GS.
-- has he been banished from practices?
-- drugs? women? late nights? missed curfews? Taco Bell at midnight?
-- since he is the youngest, maybe his GS is the result of too much work, some hazing. or working on his high school term paper.
i can't figure it.

All of the above. Cipriani is a "special" player. Now that I'm deep into overextension, this will probably be his last week. 2500/week is just too much.

that was a memorably ugly game last night on TV --

five players for the Register-Guard fouled out, as did Mikuska for the Rocket Scientists.

the Scientists shot 6 for 72 from the free throw line.

both teams have been banned from any further appearances on TV.

thought i would take a look around and see what is in store for the coming week, but before we get to the relegation and playoff games, first a fond farewell to Bullish Mentality and the Hawks.

Bullish Mentality
if not for injuries, i figure this team would have won three straight NBBA titles. AZ never complained or railed against the gods the way he had the right to, another reason to respect his management. be that as it may, BM descends to the netherworld with three good prospects, including "Dobie" Ben Gillis, and i would guess a draft pick keeper or two. however, his squad is burdened with a couple of the ugliest players i've seen, or at least outside the Milwaukee Lethargy charity ward. these two players, the ancient Brandao and the wonderfully named Lucky Gray, have skill sets that would strike a viewer blind. otherwise, there are five veterans ready for battle in DII. i think dropping divisions is tricky, for there are plenty of good teams down there, and getting back is not a given, nor easy. that said, AZ should have a chuck of change to help him rebuild.

the Hawks
i think Mr. GoodKnees seems in better shape for relegation. two very young players, S.K. and Littlefield, are already very good, but under 25. there are a couple of MVP prospects who are around 20 / 21, plus a superstar prospect who is under 20. i assume a good draft pick is coming, as well. lots of development here, plus some salary cap room. i don't think the Hawks will be back in two seasons, but when he gets back, several of these players will be at the heart of that team.

good luck to both squads.
