Andersonville vs Duke. Andersonville wins, they end Duke's shot at a playoff spot. Duke wins, they still have a shot. This one is gonna be a slufgest. If you like the sort of fight where you wait for a referee to mercifully end it; I'm sure Andersonville will get tired of punching Duke in the face repeatedly. Expect to see some kicks, body slams, an elbow drop or two, and possibly something off the top rope. In the first half.
In the first matchup, Duke got pummelled by 70 on the road. They were losing by 25 at the half, but any hope they had of comeback was stomped into the ground in the third quarter when Andersonville beat the brakes off of them 48-14. They never had a chance in that one.
In no way do I see Duke returning the favor. Even if alligators like to play with their food, what does that mean? They let Duke hang around within 20 or 30?
This is gonna be a mercy killing. Andersonville will put this away early to extinguish any hope Duke might think about having.
Why?
Because they expect to pick up a game after we play Organization XIII. They expect us to lose.
Let me keep this real: I don't believe they expect to catch us, it's just that hope is a powerful drug. We also don't expect them to catch us, because we expect to beat Duke again before we dispatch Andersonville to end the regular season. But hope IS a powerful drug, and if they have any prayer of catching us, that means they have to win out and we have to lose out.
Now, we here at Linndale expect to win every game (except when we don't), but there is no way in this or any ubiverse where we lose a) three in a row to end this season and b) lose to Duke at HOME. No. Not gonna happen. No way, no how.
We have pride. Plus, I hate all things Duke (and Duke adjacent). Grant Hill excepted, of course. Grant is a gentleman, a scholar, a saint, and proof that I can say one nice thing about Duke.
Now where was I? Oh yes; Duke stinks, we'll beat Andersonville again, Andersonville will beat Duke again, and that's that.
I said what I said. Where's the lie?
