All I've done since joining is sack two players, and this evening I decided to get the level 5 coach on offer.

I didn't even realise us noobs got free cash until I read this and went and checked my economy page. That's pretty cool of them.

Guess I better read the rules. Again. *sigh*

I'm not sure the "newbie bonus" is in the rules. I jumped on the lvl5 coach this week, and last week I picked up the L3 doctor and L4 PR dude. I figure with the offseason I could use something to boost interest in place of winning any games.

My advice would be similar to what others have said - don't spend it right away. We're about to be in the offseason, so see how much money you're losing each week before you decide to make any big purchases. See if you nab any good players in the draft, then start a little training program.
