Never said that there were no clones. I am trying to train my players in a way that will benefit my team, and make them unique rather than look at other managers. The only right advice about training in my opinion can be stating which skills are primary for what position, and the training length per pop (not just giving away ready training plan)

Guys, please take a look on this game (26328329)

Ok, I won even playing TIE, but my PG was a disaster. 0/16 Field goals. I checked his shots and I saw to my amazement that most of the shots were form inside the colour. His IS is atrocious and I ask you if IS for PG's is really that irrelevant. Shouldn't he take more shots from outside?

Is there a point in raising his IS some more to -say- awfull or inept? (He is 21 and 183 cm). Or would it be better to dump him and buy a new one with some more IS?

he should have hit a bit more then every third shot depending on match up rating, and even guards with good is often have problems with the shooting percentage in inside tactics. Did he take the shots with plenty of time on the clock or mostly at the beginning?

First of all thanks for the answer.

Most of the shots were taken at the end of the shot clock, so I guess that they were necesity shots actually. But is there a point in improving his inside skill or is it just a waste of time. I have problems balancing the pros and cons

some people swear that IS works, i personally didn't see it or at least 2 level of JS makes lot more difference then IS 1 to 6 even on inside tactics but maybe my sample is to small(and to long ago).

So let me rephrase the initial question, with the risk of going slightly off topic.

In an inside offence set narmally the guards try to pass the ball to the inside men. The question is what happens if they can't find the tall boys. Do the shoot from outside or do they drive for the lay up?

I believe that they mostly drive. Your PG had 10 assists.. that's not bad but everytime he couldn't pass the ball inside, he had to drive and shoot with his atrocious IS.

I guess it has to do with the opponent defense and I see he is a guard trainee so if you believe IS play a role in layup then go ahead to train it if not I would say hes a pretty balanced guard trainee, just need to get his OD up and his JR up. Passing can be lay off for a while since it train really fast anyways.

driving should be more important then IS, when i remember a BB comment right ;)

But for me still the JS and JR are more important then those too skills, and a working offense below the basket so that he don't have to take those forced shots.
