Guys, you do realise that creating out of the game injuries, you make this game even more random. You can not set up lineups for saturday and go on a trip on friday. I agree we could have more situations in game that could cause injuries (although the injury rate should stay the same). If you want realism then prolly every player would miss atleast one game a season. Introduce career ending injuries etc. This change makes you always login before games, to make sure you did not get that "apple" injury. Making people login is not a step into the right direction. I like the fact that injuries happen in games I have time between the games to adapt to those injuries and can protect my players if needed, by not playing them in games (thus making sure he is uninjured for important ones).

I hope no-one was seriously suggesting between game injuries. Just a funny joke that is all. Perhaps someone could also have a Bobbit injury - that is worse than the apple knife incident.

Yer lets clarify before we find out our player that we just spent millions of dollars on, is a clutz and keeps brandishing weapons in the locker room and getting arrested.

So, no one is suggesting out of game injuries. The only possibility on this, would be injuries based around training, but, as LA-Kukoc said, way way way too complex, so lets leave that out.

The original suggestion is that - injuries can occur, in game, at the current frequency, but by means other than flagrant fouls.

Actually, I'm sort of half suggesting non-game injuries, but the half that acknowledges that this will result in torches and pitchforks from several quarters makes me keep quiet (sometimes).

Don't ask what sort of Chunks they are, you probably don't want to know. Blowing Chunks since Season 4!

It's usually a shooting foul, that creates the injury (although it half of the time is shooting + flagrant). I think I've seen about 50% of injuries happen from flagrant fouls. I think I have seen atleast one regular foul injury (not shooting, not fragrant), I might be wrong though.

Let's just abolish injuries, they are the only aspect of this game that really sucks big time.

Yes correct, at the moment its shooting foul + flagrant foul combo. I have never seen a non-shooting non-flagrant foul occur ever.

We are suggesting that injuries should be caused by other factors - Scrimmage for the ball, rebound, player defending a strong driving opposition, etc etc etc.

Building from scratch that perfect SF you always wanted: 9 seasons

Buying out of the TL a world-class PG: 4 millions

Having those 2 players injuried just before your national league playoff finals: sucks big time

Non-shooting, non-flagrant foul leading to injury. Although now that I'm looking at it, I'm not sure why my team (the one that fouled) got the ball after the foul and substitutions.

its still a foul. might not have been flagrant and might not have been shooting, but its still a foul.

and as i said, I personally have never seen one of these. but ive seen plenty of shooting-flagrant foul combo's as most people would agree, so if there is the existence of non-flagrant foul -injuries, then their occurance is so minimal that Im suggesting it should be changed to be more frequent, and reduce the frequency of foul-related injuries.
