My new SG is only taking 6.5 shots per game, for 7 ppg average. His FG% is the same compared to last year.
The only theory that i have, is that my C and PF ive been training last year and this year, and so now they are compotent enough to take more shots per game, because their shooting stats are up. Their numbers are slightly up.
But still, nearly 4 shots less per game, on average? For no other benefit? Seems odd to me.
That might be it.
Additionally he might have a better passing skill, and together with the inside orientated tactics and the better flow your guards just don´t need to take that many shots than last season.
Play an outside offense and he will on average be better than your former SG.
