Hi Ballan,
At this stage of the season with your team sitting in 7th.
You really have no hope of winning over all and promoting to div 3.
I've just noticed you bought 2 middle ages pointguards. So I'm a little late in giving advice because I would have strongly recommeneded against those purchases.
I'd recommend selling them for a profit if you can, because There's no point you spending more money than you need to.
I'd suggest focus on the draft for this season, save all your money for next season and start then.
The starting money you do have, is it $500k? I'd spend on Scouting (maybe $10k week / 2 points) and your arena. and I would now look to buy a level 4 (advanced) Trainer with as cheap of a salary as possible, like under $15k.
For this season, unfortunately you don't REALLY have any great training prospects, but I would spend the last of the season training Ranko Dosen and Paul Bertram Steiert. probably train Single positon Pressure and try to get some decent Outside Defence going. Then hopefully try to draft a young gun aussie and work towards training an U21 representative.
As for your idea about raising ticket prices.
You're currently in 7th spot in the Big 8 and your team has only won 1 game (albeit before you took over).
Your attendance will be poor until you start winning some games, win your TV games and your Rivalry games, that will help.
Having MORE seats allows you to keep the ticket prices LOW so that people will actually consider it a good price.
Think about it from a human standpoint, My local team sucks this season, they're really not doing too well, If I had nothing else to do I'd probably go along and watch the odd game, but OMG their ticket prices are a bit too high and its not worth going. If they lowered their prices I'd probably be like "eh it's only $8, beats watching TV again I guess"
So in your position (and in Div4 really) you can't raise ticket prices very high anyways as people just wont come along.
In Summation, Mickyster was right, add more seats... bit by bit. I've been told never do an upgrade that will take longer than 7 days at a time, as you could miss out on the extra little bit of revenue by a couple days and have to wait 2 weeks to see a return on investment.
Good luck
OH.... PS.
Manage your game shape and enthusiasm.
Try to make sure your players play BETWEEN 48 and 80 minutes each WEEK. Try to get your starting 5 to PROFICIENT game shape.
AND You should TIE all your games from now on so that you have a chance to maybe win the relegation battle (not that it REALLY matters) but it will help attendance a little next season if you don't lose the relegation battle.
