He is a 174k wage player. This guy is an 18k wage player. That is what I just don't understand :D

Brian Cardinal might not a player who can dominate the NBA, but if you put him into a team on high school level he would be a dominant force ;)

Your 18k player is above the other players on his team, and most likely a star on his level.

And patient leads to most shot end up at your "outside" star.

The 18K wage player is playing against a lot of teams full of scrubs in his league and probably has bigger mismatches than the 174K player who plays in a higher league full of quality players.

As it is, this player is not overperforming by any stretch. As it is, his player ratings actually seem medicore/low for an 18K player. The tactic 'patient' will normally produce a ton of shots for one player and if this is by far his best player with a good matchup, the game engine will continue to choose him.

Yeah, I took into consideration that the 174k wage player IS playing in a league of god players, but this 18k wage player isn't (from what I have noticed) in a league of worse players. I looked at this guys history, and even when he was in a team that didn't play patient, he still did the same sort of thing.

I countered his outside ability (Well, I thought it did anyway) by making my PG (who has pretty good OD) play defence as SF to stop him getting those "Outside star" points, but it didn't really work, he still got 60 ish. I will speak to someone in my league who has a pretty good SF and ask him if he can do patient one time to see how it effects his shots and scoring, as he has very nice outside star :)

Just gind it slightly odd how he can do so well, yet be such a low wage in comparison to other players who don't. I suppose it is just heavily down to him playing patient as a tactic. I will have a deeper read on it, should be resourcefull :D

Thank you :)

His 18k wage guy went up againts my 24k point guard (who has good OD), still got 60 points (so I am guessing that was more because of his IS, so my mistake). But I have seen other teams who have pretty decent SF's lose a lot of points to him.

Recently I have understood that he is just getting the ball more than the others, so I am not too worried. Because it isn't like the team is scoring its normal amount of points, PLUS his 60, it is just he is getting the 60 points out of the normal amount (Of course there is no normal, but I hope you see what I mean?)

I guess if I do the same, I will have one of my players taking most of my shots.

But the thing I was more confused about, is why does he take so many shots if he is playing patient? Surely he would not take so many as he would be biding his time, and then (not sure if it has any effect) the shot clock running to 1 amy have some sort of 'pressure' effect on him to make him have more chance to miss? These are all things I should probably read more into.

Thanks for your comment, it makes a valid point! :)

when you watch the games patient feel lot more like an isolation tactic, then the isolation tactic who at least "switch" there isolated player quite often.

His guy played SF and your SF is a $7000 player. Did you switch defensive assignments to make sure he was matched up against your 24K defender?

Even then, as yo mentioned that player may also have high driving/IS and be a bad matchup for your guard with good OD.

Also, his team put more effort into the game. Not sure if that means you played TIE or he Crunched but that's going to change some of the dynamics of that matchup in his favour.

Yeah I made it so my PG played defence as an SF. It didn't make much difference though lol :p

I suppose I understand now how he scored so many points, it is just because he took pretty much all of his teams shots. But still its not nice to see a player getting a 60 ish point game against you lol.

I am thinking about replacing my SF anyway. Would be good as I haven't got particularly high wage total so can make a fairly decent upgrade :)

Thanks for the post,

Hmm. Yeah. I will have more of a read into all the tactics. I am fairly sure i know which tactics are good counters for eachother, but need to find out what they do in the first place lol ;)
