I know the new Game Shape hit is meant to deter large purchases prior to cup games, but this will affect club, and particularly NT teams, as well. High salary players tend to sell more often, and having consistent game shape decreases affects not only NT planning but also training (if an NT player is transferred, they will need to waste a week to train Game Shape just to stay relevant). Coaches cannot guarantee any player will or won't be training, getting proper minutes, or for sale, at any given time and this just adds another factor out of their control that may seriously affect the outcome of NT games.

I think the idea to limit the advantage of buying players at the last minute for Cup games is on the right track, but if you're causing game shape decreases, be aware it affects multiple areas. The GS hit must be small.

I think your points are something that would need consideration, but I think that if the changes are considered to be good for the core game experience (clearly, the BBs think so, otherwise this wouldn't be in place) then any inconvenience to the NT structure shouldn't be an impediment. One could hope that this might finally be the last nudge needed to get people to stop training players that are unaffordable and only exist to play on NTs, but I'm not sure I've got that much optimism. ;)

ops, so sorry, post wrong area. can anyone shift the post over to suggestion forum? thanks

regarding this move. things can be set before the game as usual. no changes during game time.
At least this make the game more fun. purely playing with one formation, seem quite dead. no offence but if you get what i mean.

As we talked on the s22 feedback, I think the NT game should adapt to the game, so no worries there. Still there is a thread (238678.1)were you can vote and discuss if the new players gameshape hit is a good or bad change.

Finally, we’ve received many requests to introduce a cup transfer deadline. This is logistically difficult to implement, since national tournaments end later in the season in larger countries, resulting in many different cup transfer deadlines. As an alternative, starting from season 24, transferred players will require at least a couple of weeks to get used to their new teammates and surroundings. Newly acquired players will receive a hit in game shape so that they cannot directly perform at their best upon arrival to their new team, with players in better game shape receiving a larger hit than players in bad game shape. We expect this will result in managers having to plan their roster moves further in advance, and it should also help to address the concern that teams can buy expensive players immediately prior to an important match. More information on the specifics of this change will be revealed in the future.

Bravo!!Bravo!! This is great!! This will slow down a couple of things...1st..Renting will now have take place weeks before game instead of hours before games...GREAT ADD!!! And it would also stop the last of the day traders from doing their work(nobody wants players in bad GS).
I also love the BID HISTORY add.I always liked this feature in HT. The GE tune up is the icing on top of the cake!!! Great JOB...You got my supporter $'s for years to come.

GS hit will make my U21 coaching job a bit harder, but it will be just a nuisance compared to the effect in NTs. GS just became almost the only relevant factor in deciding the matches. The others are enthusiasm and HCA, and their role diminished a bit with GS hits.

but it also favores efficiant players which make sense to keep longer around because they benefit the team. only monoskilled and very expensive players are dealt very often or am I wrong? this could open up a chance for a smal country to make a run just with selfowned, good-skilled, low salary players

I think it's pretty disappointing that the problem with game tactics is being attempted to be solved with changes to the game engine when the problem is clearly caused by the salary formula.

Let's say, for example, I want to use a guard with 100k $ salary. I have these two options:

I can play look inside and use this guard:

JS: 20 JR: 8
OD: 20 HA: 16
DR: 20 PS: 12
IS: 11 ID: 6

He'd have fantastic offensive skills for the offense and equally great defense

Or I can play an outside tactic and use a guard that also has great offense:

JS: 19 JR: 19
OD: 10 HA: 16
DR: 16 PS: 15
IS: 6 ID: 6

His offensive skills are great for an outside offense, but as you can see his defense is quite bad. If this guy had OD 20 like the first guy, he'd make 343k.

The conclusion is very simple (and well known to nearly everyone who has been playing this game for some time):
If I want great defense AND great offense from my guards without paying ridiculous wages, I need to play look inside.
This also has an impact on big man skills. All this look inside makes IS more important and leaves less room for ID/BL.

The look inside problem has nothing to do with the game engine or big man skills, it is caused by guard skills which are so expensive that nobody can afford playing with a great outside offense.

The fix to this problem is reducing the extreme salary gain both for guards and big men who have high numbers in all main skills. Nobody wants to pay 350k for one guard or big man and as long as it stays this way, you'll always see players being trained in a way that fits one tactic and saves lots of salary.
