Widerström is kind of unique player. I like him very much.
His skills were: JS 10 - JR 9 - OD 6 - HA 14 - DR 14 - PA 19/20 - IS 8 - ID 17 - RB 16 - SB 17
But he was hard to play. I used him as a C who could defend and rebound. His passing was the highest on the team at that time. In season 33 I tried another approach:
(36284). i set him as a SG in LI and switched his defense to C. The result was jawdropping ;) A TD with 17 points, 15 rebounds and 20 assists. I tried this several times more, but the results ware never again this outstanding.
I saw (and build) several defense types. But until now I didn't find the perfect one. There is always a downside. Take Widerström, he had no OD. Haek had no RB and his offense game was also very limited. My current trainee hasn't the level of OD and PA like Haek had, but his offense skills are great. Somehow you end up always with at least one or two neglected skills. For seasons it was SB and JR for the standard players. Manon's Hammarstrand is a fantastic inside defender and playmaker (for a big), but he has also his downsides.
Maybe a manager with a all time great trainee and a lv 7 coach could build a player with offense and defense...
