The bench is cleared when your team is up 20 or more in the 4th quarter.

lets forget about your 3rd stringers.

what if you point guards are even in skill and your backup is having a better day why cant he get more minutes. why are all the subs together excep for foul trouble. why when up 30 points in the third are my starters still playing. how do i get my bench more active. why cant i have a six man. i have one bench player as good as my 5 starters and i cant get him more than 15 minutes a game when he does not start. I want to know if it is possible to get my bench more active. I already let my coach decide and he tends to only play my starters .

You got to know when to hold em, know when to fold em, Know when to walk away and know when to run. You never count your money when youre sittin at the table. Therell be time enough for countin when the dealins done.

I'm pretty sure there is a threshold for 3rd period too.
I say this because I had many situations where my bench warmers would actually play more minutes than my starters, mainly in the easy matches.

As to a sixth man, you have to put him as a backup in more than one position. Which is also what in fact usually happens with real 6th players, at least to me, to deserve the name, a 6th player should play 25min+ almost every game. I

When i put a player as a backup in two positions it sometimes works and sometimes one of my starters plays 45 minutes.

The coach could have lost me the game as my second team was playing against his first team.

Or it could be that your coach won the game for you, but putting the best team at that moment on the floor. Hard to believe that some BB programming might work to your advantage.

I think that ultimately depends on how you setup the game tactics. For example, you would obviously have to put in a starter and a substitute, but the underlying cause is whether the coach decides to or not. If you want more bench players, MAYBE try coach picks from depth chart or follow depth chart until 4th (quarter, I am assuming). Another reason may be how you organized your depth chart, substitutes/reserves.

it has no connection of working for me or against me. it is that the coach should have called a timeout and get my starters back in or make sure they were better rested during the game

So in an overtime game, you'd have preferred that your coach saved their energy for the overtime, when a coach wouldnt know if there is overtime until the end of regulation?

When i was up 14 in the third i did not need all 5 of my starters in i could have played with 3 and le 2 rest and then bring those 2 in and let someon else rest. Insteead i had all 5 of my starters on the bench in OT. That makes allot of sense.

At the beginning of every quarter the starters come back. Maybe some of my players need to sit an extra 1 or 2 minutes instead of being rushed back.

Again, a coach will never assume overtime.

You'd hear a lot more yelling if the starters were on the bench in the 3rd quarter with only a 14 point lead.

Who said expect OT? I expect my coach not to bench all my starters for the majority of the OT. If they need a break replace one or two not 5. They should be randomly switched not all together.

I did not say bench them when I'm up 14 in the third. Give one or two a rest so i can always have a starter on the court and don't need them to only play as single units. Maybe you did not notice but the subbing pattern is more like hockey then basketball. I sometimes have all 5 subbed together instead of here and there. If they subbed a player now and then or did not always put my starters at the beginning of the first and third quarter then maybe my starters could have played in the first OT.
