Either that, or you add other tertiary skills like stealing or clutch skill and make it known that these skills are of far less importance. In all fairness, skills like driving and handling are only secondary skills and no one complains about them. (I recall a player on the TL with legendary driving and handling to go along with average guard skills who was only putting up about a 6.5 or 7.0 rating.)

lot of driving ain't useless, but players with just one skill are useless ;)

In the german Bundesliga, the best scoring player all have great driving and driving cost enarly no salary and the training improves secondaries pretty good as well. So the balance is much better ... The top german team, makes their guards superior in just training driving, could you do the same with Shotblocking?

And thats SB is part of id is the reason many people train it in expection that it help the players, to get better.

OD but OD is much more complicated to train then driving, cost more salary etc. So the balance is pretty good.

I would train both skill, when i am train two positions ;)

Shot blocking pops quite fast as well.

Blocking 2 Positions:
Trains SB @ 2-3 weeks
Trains ID @ 7-8 weeks
Trains RB @ 7-8 weeks

ID two Positions:
Trains ID @ 2-3 weeks
Trains DV @ 7-8 weeks
Trains IS @ 7-8 weeks
Trains SB @ 7-8 weeks

One and One:
Forwards:
Trains DV @ 1.8 weeks
Trains HN @ 2.3 weeks
Trains IS @ 4-5 weeks
Trains JS @ 4-5 weeks

You see the difference?

My experience is that SB is affected quite strongly by height (more than ID for sure), so a really tall player will progress quite fast -- close to the pop rate of driving for forwards. But then again, that's just my nonscientific opinion.

It can pop as fast as rod runner but it wont do you no good so why should we care about how fast it pops?

sometimes it goes faster because the other skills are much higher, but when you train it at an similiar level likes theother "C" Skills the time is quite right ...

But that isn't right the point, when you train 1 on 1 you improve your team right, it will shoot better and make less to ... if you train blocking you will train 7 level for ~0,2 Bpg which will hit the basket in around 40% of the cases . So you train 14 weeks for ~0,16 points per game(for you 1 point every 8 game, yeah this decide pretty much close game HaHa), and pay for that with a similiar skilled center 10-20k salary and you can train that much other skills anymore. So it would be better not to train it, but you can not undo training, andyour player only improves noticeable in his salary which ain't really good.

Thats the poitn of it.

A 18-year old, 7'4 center who was maybe 2 levels ahead in all other inside skills was training shot blocking at ~1 pop per week. Make of it what you will.

Except you can in no way quantify the actual improvement in your team that's due to Driving, or can you? How do you know it's not even less effective than shot blocking?

I am not sure where you come with this numbers. I don't think they're anything close to the real effect.

A quick look at a bunch of NT players shows that starting at mediocre-average, 7 additional levels of shot blocking mean as much as an extra 1-1.5 shots blocked per game, roughly speaking.

Thats the poitn of it.
Maybe it is. Everyone is free to play the game as they see fit.

then discuss it in the speed thread, i am pretty sure they will be other opionions.

But even if it worthless, is improves the others skills fast an even an 16 in driving doesn't cost many salary ... And there are lot team in germany who get succesful with training lot of driving, this could be and sign. You can not even proove the concept of js right, because it have the same effect like driving, you take more shoots and maybe the percentages improves a bit.

thats an small old study we make to look if blocking could work that way, you can see really difference in the amount of blocks if you watch on the stats.

Guess what blocking he has -> (4599819)

Wait, does that mean that it's ok to train a worthless skill just because it doesn't add salary?

And every morning the sun rises half an hour after I get up, but that doesn't mean I make the sun rise. You have to do better than this.

I don't quite understand what you're talking about (or how it relates to the case in point).

I am much more interested in what stamina he has.
