The main problem is that the BBs seem to not be present here, they are now well hidden and in general the community is not involved to partecipate in discussions. This is a static game and if there isn't anything to do + lack of motivation, it's easy to understand why people left the game.
For the "old one" like me, there is another problem that is still related to the "boring" aspect of the game but it's also linked to something that didn't change in these years; when you've a discussion about draft or tactics the usual answer of BB and GM is "Hey the problem is yours, draft is mediocre but is the best possible here and all the tactics are well balanced, rebuild your team".
The result is that people is leaving the game but again, it seems BBs left already this game before their users.
As someone said we don't know what they do all the day but if they work here they can invest better their time, in any case sometime it's enough to write a post to double check the situation here and to try to give us new motivations to play.

As someone who has also started about one year ago I agree with a lot of the points you bring up. One of the biggest things that keeps people on the game is having some success. The bottom part odlf my league has been a revolving door for a long time. Teams join lose 10 straight games and then disappear. One of the best ways to solve this would have everyone start at the lowest leagues. It would give them a chance to both learn the game and have some early success.

The other problem that I believe is driving off users is the amount of time it takes too improve enough to advance leagues and the inherent disadvantage that newer teams have. I personaly was close to quitting recently because of teams that have been in the game for 10+ seasons more than me spend the millions that they have saved from tanking and gies from worst to first in my league. This exact scenario has happened to me twice in the last two seasons. And another team in my leagueis in the process of doing this for next season. I think when newer teams relize that it may be a year or more before they have a chance at winning their league it takes a lot of fun out of league games. The only solution i can think of for this is speeding up the seasons so new teams can be competitive faster.

Take my team for instance. I started in Div 5. It took me 1 real year to advance to the middle pack of Div 3 where most of the teams are active. I also consider my rise to Div 3 pretty quick.

My best trainee who I drafted is still not as good as my regular starters. Basically I have devoted a year to training him and he still isn't that important to my team. Also I have to somewhat weigh training with trying to win a title. So I have to balance that as a factor too which slows my progress down.

You have some additional activities that you can do to bridge the waiting from one game to another.

1. Train a U21 player. It's a lot of fun and it takes only three seasons to get him into U21.
2. Train a NT player. It takes a lot of time before it's fun and it takes away some wins in the process, so you have to be prepared.
3. Buy the supporter and play in private league in order to have one additoinal game per week.
4. Chase achievements
5. etc...

There are a lot of smaller goals you can work toward while waiting to win D.I...

I like old-school. This is not a chew-and-spit game. You are not supposed to start in D.V and win D.I after four seasons. The game would become even more boring. There are lot of goals you can pursue in this game.
I was bored too, so I engaged in U21 and nw I'm finishing my 6th season as U21 coach. It's been great! I'm out of motivation for U21 now, but I'm looking forward to NT. U21 and NT can be great motivators for "dinosaurs".

I agree thought that a second team for supporters is a great idea.

not everyone can be a national team coach. ;)

I agree with increasing the gamespeed too. When I first started, I felt like I had to wait forever until the next game. Now I am used to it but I would welcome such an increase in gamespeed...more games...more fun! ;)

The same counts for a second supporter team. Let them join smaller countries and it would bump the micronations a little bit. They would get more prospects for their national team and the flag chasing would not be such a pain in the ass.

It is clear that the BBs have to act in the near future if they really care about the game. The suggestions that people make are mentioned repeatedly. Even help was offered. History has shown often enough that if you do not satisfy your customers, they will switch to a competitor sooner or later.

This might be the biggest issue here. So frustrating really...

For me a few small changes would be good.

1. Give new teams some better players based on their league level. So instead of giving teams 18 players but most are worthless give them 8 players based on their league level where these guys will at least be able to be back ups in a decent team in their league. So work out a formula based on their league average salary. Idea give them 12 players who have a combined salary of 60% of the league average. There will still be some useless players but they will also have some decent ones to keep on their side. They will also not be flogged every game to start with. Make all these players 25+ so they are only useful for these teams to start up.

2. Make sure in their starting side they get at least 2 players aged 19 or under with all star + potential as possible trainees. These players should not be included in the above 12.

3. Make it in no way the best option to tank. Teams should have their attendance cut if their team salary is way below the team average. In my current league there is a team with a 100k roster with the average almost 300k They never win and should be getting next to no one to games.

4. Teams who tank should be grouped together when they get in the bottom league is its is a bit harder to climb back up. Nothing worse for a new user to see someone who has played for years spend a million on new players and give them no chance of winning the comp and then a 2nd team drops in and does the same the following season.

as one of the "dinosaurs" and one of those who used to have couple of teams under their belt lets get couple of things clear.

1. 2nd team idea for supporters is a joke! why? it opens up sooooo many ways to cheat.
i can think of few in couple of seconds of thinking that i know i would do i matter of seconds; farm team for my NT in first tadjikistan league, train players for my NT, keep spending every penny earned on transfers to my original team(since 2nd team is legal i guess its legal to transfer players too),raise the money in community to get couple of VPN servers and do the whole thing over and over.
u understand where im going with this?

2.speeding up the game; personally i would like it but as far as i know in croatian community like 90% of people would leave.
since BB is game with a community with average age of 21+(this is my opinion) people like the slow paced environment.
i know a bunch of guys here that have their families, people have their regular jobs and a lot of them just dont have time to log in every day.

anyway all of those solutions look nice on paper, but problem is that every solution brings some kind of problems with it.
if u remeber a couple of first seasons when motion was "overpowered" community cryed about it,for last couple of seasons people cry about LI...u can never satisfy whole community.
it took 20+ seasons of this game for people to realize that multi skilled players are awsome and that monoskilled players that led to LI arent even close to efficiency.
game is changing and community is evolving, even game is evolving, just look at how many changes we have been through in last couple of seasons.
and even if im fighting all the time with mods and gms(my problems with any kind of authority) they do a lot of work that needs to be respected.
and people marin is doing whole lot of work so give him some credit.
those guys are here for u,just look at perpete, the guy have a post on almost every subject on forum,u do know how much time it takes to read through all of the crap and to anwser on the same questions over and over again?

thank you for reading :)

Another dinosaur here. 41 years old.
I play at more online sport games besides this and there is a thing that I don´t like too much about BB and think that could be improved. I have read that online games like this take too long to be competitive and this don´t fit well whit teenegers who like more dinamic games. I like games that take time to develop a good team like BB but even if this is the taken way there are things that can improve the experience. In others games the players habilities are taken from 1 to 100 or from 1 to 1.000 and there is a diary improvemente so you enter the game diary only to see your players training. Here players habilities only go from 1 to 20 and there are no visible sublevels and only weekly training. There are days whitout any reason to come in and sometimes your training improvement is no visible so you get desperate. And the tanking mode working so good doesn´t help.

Yes, and it wouldn't be made this way. Of course trading between two teams would be forbidden. Using second team for NT farming is not that different from where are we now. Being U21 coach I know at least two managers in our country that are not engaged with BB anymore and are keeping the account alive only to train U21/NT players.

I agree with "no chew and spit". I don't care about teenagers who want to reach the top leagues, and see visible results immediately, and whatever. Game pace is fine as it is. Perhaps it could be shortened to 12 weeks, instead of current 14 weeks per season, but no more than that.

No pay-to-win, no chew-and-spit and I'm alright with the game.
