If I can win the Big 8 with 2 18 year olds in the rotation....I'd be shocked to say the least.

Can't afford the twins and really don't have a roster spot for them with Amorrortu and Gipson starting. They are also overpriced but NO ONE WILL BUY THEM for a reasonable price.

Well someone just got a steal in my opinion. 20 ppg guard for $1.5 million. I would have "bought" him myself but the internetz imploded. At least now I can safely say I won't be bankrupt in 2 weeks.

I think the new salary update has really skewwed things. I'm not seeing a lot of people getting bid up besides rookies. I don't get why it would be a better idea to pay $2m for a rookie than $2m for a proven vet unless you are rebuilding.

If you look you see a lot of people fishing for high bids but I think the updated salary calculation has made people wary of buying high priced players. The old mindset of this player is worth $X, I'm not paying $Y for him is no longer the prevailing wisdom.

I just shed $50k of salary and I still have the highest payroll in the league. Sheesh. This is unsustainable.

And yeah that was 3 straight posts. So what?

Sucks to hear about the market, I'm hoping it's just the timing where everyone is basically looking for trainees. But I have a bad feeling it isn't (You always have a bad feeling Frost - non Disney reference for ya).

Especially given that I"ll be off loading a bunch of players at the end of this season. Only my 3 guard trainees and some scrubs will survive the purge.

Here's a question. Obviously it's up to you if you wish to divulge, but do you find it better if you set a minimum price on a player for transfer,or just put the initial price at 0 (or 1000, w/e it is)? I've always gone with the price at 0 as to get more interest from a larger pool of players. It seems that when I put in a min price, I over value players, or they just don't sell for what i perceive their value being. Anyone care to share?

Also, I'll throw up some predictions later, maybe tomorrow. today I have too many errands to run. Guess I'll start with everyone winning in the tournament later tonight. This is very much a blind one w/o looking at any other matchup then mine.

I tend to list for a min. price a couple times and then go the $0 route. I think it is hit or miss with either one and I have to pay attention more to the $0 method.

I was actually looking at them early this morning, and Nandino was at $22k with less than four hours to go.

So, this begs the question: What do you consider a "reasonable price" for what seemed to me to be rather mono-skilled, high-salary guards? It's fine if they can drop in 20ppg, but if they can't stop their opponents from doing the same, you're not really gaining anything. Plus, you're paying $50k+ a week for him.

The guy who bought him has re-listed him as well.

I think a lot of people are over-reacting, but we shall see in due time.

Wow, we agree on something. Somebody write this date down. In addition, I think an awful lot of teams over-spend on 18yo talent that never gets trained to its full potential.

If you look you see a lot of people fishing for high bids but I think the updated salary calculation has made people wary of buying high priced players. The old mindset of this player is worth $X, I'm not paying $Y for him is no longer the prevailing wisdom.

I don't understand the last sentence. Did you use a negative where you meant to use a positive?

That would require a weird lateral move for you. ;)

This is tough, because around 50% of my players have the "Very few players like XXX have been transferred recently" tag, and about a third of the rest have the "XXX is probably better than all 10 of these players" tag. I tend to list at the price I want a couple of times, and if that doesn't work I list at a low-ball amount that I'm willing to live with.
