In season 15 we saw how the new system was able to prevent the "legendary trick". Despite the fact that the discussion was dominated by the legitimacy talk about the wild card they were others who where looking another fact: The B3 winner was the second most expensive team in competition.

I agree with almost whole your message, but to be fair I have to comment this statement.
I had second most expensive wage bill but followed by the others with very small gap, whilst gap to first one was over 300k. I haven't saved money for several seasons, I was B3 semifinalist season 14. I haven't ruined my team and I'm ready to go into knockout phase season 16 again ...

I'm not judging you or questioning your quality as manager. I just made a statement of a fact, you can add others perspectives as well but that will not change the fact you were the second most expensive team in knockout phase, followed by close for the 3rd and not so close from the 4th. We could start looking at how you pulled the money needed to maintain your team(probably saving), talking about salaries in your division and his competitive dynamic, etc. But I guess we would miss the point.

This is a discussion about limits and what do we want for the B3 to be. I guess everybody agrees that it's ok to bring reinforcements to try to win the competition, and that's is not terrible to see a team loosing money everyweek pushing his finances in order to compete for the greatest club title. What I think many don't want to see is bringing entire teams as reinforcements with tremendous payrolls who can only be sustained by a lot of saving or a lot of time(and talent) dedicated to buy cheap, sell expensive(any other legal way to make a lot of money in B3? Success doesn't pay that much). All those strategies should help to get better players, but they shouldn't be the hearth of B3. I believe that with a 900k roster things could have been very different for you last season(or maybe not!).

But then again, this is not a conversation about you or last season B3, this a conversation about what B3 is starting to look like(or is already looking?) and if that is what we want for it to be.

You have just described the problem. Do you have any ideas how to solve it?

Salary cap at the start of the knockout phase. If you're over, you default.
Needs to be set around 1-1.2mil though, to balance out various strategies.

I don't understand what would happen if you are over.

That's weird, I can't agree with such suggestion.
I can imagine some salary cap, but not just for B3 knockout, if there is some it should be general. But should be implemented as not allowing to buy player which throw you over the cap.
But there are another questions I can think of:
1) how about teams which are below the cap before salary update but over the cap after the salary update - I can imagine they should play with roster over the cap, no forfeiting
2) how about teams that would be already over the cap in time of implementing team salary cap - I have no idea yet

I think they should implement a luxury tax ,everything over 600k or 750k just raw numbers should result as luxury, and cost you x2 the expenses half of it distributed to the next season tv contracts ,lets say over 600k it considered a luxury and youve got 1000k in salaries you're weekly should pay 1,8 mil, this way you should make youre math better before you deside to buy the best possible team, and this could be insurance that no one with 10 season tanking can get back to back titles, the B3 should be about manager skills and not overall salaries,it should be about more rounded players skill distributions, salary increase there can be expresed team individuality ,weaknesses ,different strategies use, diferent team composure, abusing others weakness, using youre own strenghts. Not a gorilla fight under basket and the biggest gorilla usually wins.

Too complicated and don't look too effective, because teams could still use kamikaze tactic, just savings would have to be even higher than now.
