Yes, it will not be very hard to do so, we don't want to make training harder, its not the goal.

@Fresh24 + @Tudor31 - in the most obvious way, we are trying to kill the "48 for 5 players" type of games. But we also want to punish teams who have 3-4 stars with a salary that is way above the average and don't have subs, or a very poor ones.

@Mitico cobra + @Rasho - Notice that the exhaustion is not the only change that is being implemented. As the news post state, we've also reduced the effect of higher stamina levels, and that in order to help managers to sub these guys.
With that being said, we've also implemented another update to the exhaustion effect to make sure it will be less likely that a player with high stamina level that has a sub, will be exhausted.

@Audrius + @Vilkai - We do in fact consider a new merchandise income, that will spread these top players among more teams and will keep the value of top players.

Thank you for your answer and joining in the debate with palpable, intelligent reasons. So if this change only affects "48 for 5 players" type of games, then great. It should happen sooner rather than later. Let's see how it spills over into the NT realm, that being one of the major drivers in the game at this point.

Since players with high stamina don't get subbed ever, maybe that was one of the bugs that caused all this mess. So if exhaustion will simply apply more intensively to low stamina players and all starters plus reserves will get your usual 36 + 12, this may be the right direction.

Not the same. A superstar today is trained 48min in training spot and can add about 36 in another, e.g. PG and SG.

First match: 36 as a PG
Second match: 36 as a SG
Third match: 12 as a PG

Same result. If anything, this allows you to have your best players in your roster for all 3 games in a week.

In my last PL game....the team set 5 starters with no back ups and three bums in the reserve spots.
His five starters all played 44 to 46 minutes. Why were they not exhausted? 2 minutes of rest a quarter should be the minimum and anything less should have the exhaustion kick in.

will you update the rules of the game with this (and other) new features?
Many managers don't read the forum and are in search for official answers!

Great move. Looking forward to testing the changes in the substitution patterns of high stamina players, which was one of the main things that were preventing many of us from really taking it seriously to buy good backup players. It did not make much sense to spend too much on backups if they were gonna play at most 5' in each position, while the starters were gonna play 40-45' because of stamina 8-9 (119403814).

I'll try to explore and adapt to this new environment. For the moment, I bought a starter with less salary than the one I sold and I invested a decent amount of money on a backup (47073186) for the first time in my BB life.

Kudos to the BB staff for trying to make the game better every season. Perhaps some decisions were not ideal, but this only happens to those who take the risk to make brave decisions.

Well see how many minutes a decent back up gets in an elite team. What kind of minutes are you hoping that he averages from the bench?

No idea, mate! I would like at least 11-12' per position (preferably 12-15'), meaning 20-24' for two positions in a tight game (that is, no +20 in the 4th quarter) or around 30' for three positions. I would love at least something like this for a 7-player roster:

Starter 1 (stamina 9): 37' // Backup 1 (more a PG build for example): 11'
Starter 2 (stamina 9): 36' // Backup 1: 12'
Starter 3 (stamina 9): 42' // Backup 2 (more a SF/C build for example): 6'
Starter 4 (stamina 9): 37' // Backup 2: 11'
Starter 5 (stamina 9): 38' // Backup 2: 12'

That would mean Backup 1: 23' and Backup 2: 29', for a total of 52' played between the two. In my 3 close final games in B3, the sum of the two backups was 31', 30', and 28', which means around 6' per position on average.

To sum up, IMO it wouldn't make much sense to widely implement the exhaustion changes if we do not allow backup players to play at least around 12' per position when starters have Stamina 8-9 (which is almost always in B3-NT environment).
