GMs hate firing their beloved player that they spent RL Years training for and have grown attachments to them. They've had their time in the sun and it's time for them to take off their shorts and wife beater. As far as I'm aware a retirement setting is being worked on in the game, so players can now rest peacefully.
Perhaps have a feature for GMs to have the player retire, but still work around the team facilities as a Team Ambassador would help alleviate the emotional pain GMs have when firing a player. It could be for a very small rate/week like $300 bucks or something, but at least they'll still be featured on team pages and stuff like that.
