I don't feel I need to make sacrifices especially because of something someone else did. How would you feel if I said you should pay a fine because of something your colleague at work did? It's the same thing. So, if I got this right, you don't want to "put me in the same basket" nor did you directly mean me and my team but you still want me to stop competing at top level.
People cheat all the time. It's not a matter of powers, it's more of a character trait. Even normal users can cheat and do so on a daily basis, we all saw it. My point is that it doesn't matter if you are a BB or a GM or a regular user, cheating is always possible, but the reason why most of the people don't cheat is personal integrity. Either you have it or you don't.
@Astragoth: Do I really need to explain this?
this is exactly what i mean... this is how you will very fast loose even loyal customers like me... this was said by a BB and is totally unacceptable...
I don't think I will ever cheat. The day I start cheating will be the day I lose interest in this game (and will probably quit too).
You are questioning my resolve of not being a cheater? Because I said "I don't think" and "probably"? You're doing semantics here so let me put your mind at ease : I will never cheat. I bet my job on it. How can I be so sure? You play other computer games, don't you? I bet there was at least one game for which you had cheat codes. You used them and even though it was fun at the first moment, the game got boring and got boring fast. Did you learn anything from that? I did. Cheating makes you lose interest in a game. I played BB for 3 years before joining the dev team. I have no intention of ever quitting the game. If you put those two things together, you'll understand why I never cheated and never will.
@Docend24: You are talking about some formulas and such abstract things. Let me put your mind at ease; I don't know anything about our game engine. It is written in a programming language which is not my specialty at all. Also, I doubt that even if I did know how the game engine works, I'd be able to predict the outcome of such a complex code piece which calculates hundreds of variables and even probably uses some randomness to generate game outcomes. If I did, I'd be beyond rain man. There is nothing I could do or advise a national team to help win a game even if I wanted to (which I don't).
As a conclusion, let me state this. Some of you guys are have concentrated your efforts on discrediting the BBs that have been nothing short of flawless so far on account of one BB that turned out to be a cheater. Think about how you would feel if someone attacked you because of something someone else did. The thing that separates players from cheaters is integrity, not BB powers. Remember that.
