The lack of any substantial debate in this thread is depressing, to say the least. For future NT debate threads, it would be nice to see our GMs steer the discussion in a positive direction, in which actual NT topics are debated. All of these ad hominem attacks are tiring and add no value to the discussions that need to take place for our NT to be successful.

For those interested, the real NT conversation is happening on the offsite: (http://s3.zetaboards.com/BuzzerBeater_USA_NT/topic/758728...). Of the eligible NT candidates, Coco is the only one who is offering real solutions to the current dilemmas our national team is facing. I think all of that has been lost in the drivel that is this thread.

No, no, no.

Ad hominem would be saying coco is an #^&%^&

therefore don't vote for him.

When we point to results to what was, previously, one of the three largest userbases (no idea if it still is my guess is we'd be fifth because our community doesn't foster growth), and we are ranked 10th or so, regularly losing to countries with bases a quarter of our size or less, stops becoming unlucky, and at some point you admit the process is wrong.

and on that you shouldnt vote for coco.

I'm not running, as i haven't put any real thought into these:

but how about if we spit the bit again, every fringe nt player that has been getting trained properly gets a game, preferably in some sort of FC press high paced offense so everone gets a few minutes in a high scoring game for the last few games.

the u21s have a match thread, the NT used to, why not do that, but for a few of the games where the outcome isnt possibly in doubt, do a detailed tactics corner, or explain what is expected from certain players and how to really take advantage when you're the better team. (everything from basic primers on how pushing the pace reduces randomness because of the increased number of posessions to more subtle points on princeton vs motion)

anyway, if you think the results have been acceptable, vote for mroe of the same. if not, don't. there are plenty of eager candidates that I am sure are at a stage in life where they can put alot of time into the game.

whoa coco cool down down man, I'm supporting your ideas, but chill dude............

well I think the NT is on verge of competing for that championship...........we just hadn't reach over the hump and we don't know what other crazy stuff the engine does...........I think we have a chance if we can to get ourselves a title next time. In other words I think we could win with a bit of luck. All we need to do is find a way to make all our NT players cooperate right in a way that we could win. Like if we find all the right pieces we could win. We have the players..........now let's see if we can get it.

I'll wanting to be learning from yall in hopes of someday in the far future (like in S40) to run for NT. Or U21 of a Big Nation. For now all I want to do is scout.

Just cool down man. WE don't want a heated debate again guys, don't we? ;)

3. you post it as the game happens. the goal is to get the community involved, people dont want to sign up for an offsite forum, and it sounds like when they do it goes poorly.

This is what Coco is talking about when he says if you don't have time to research an issue, don't make an accusation. This statement is completely false and your basing it off Buckeyefan.

Offsite has over 500 members now, with actually 70 more pending to authorize if they would bbmail us, and has grown substantially in the last several seasons.

Chart represents posting on offsite forum since 2010^. Obvious some fluctuation, some weeks are heavier than others depending on events such as elections, posting usually ramps up as the season progresses and the NT-U21 games become more important.

Community is constantly growing and that is thanks to the hard work of a lot of people over the last several seasons. This election debate thread may give the appearance otherwise simply because a couple of outliers have the chance to complain publicly.

I've been busy lately, and I know chihorn is on vacation, so I apologize for lack of monitoring this forum, but ya'll are entering very dangerous territory.

To everyone, keep it focused on the NT and not on personal attacks, or I'm going to delete it. Thank you.

OK, so I don't go for this useless controversy over whose fault it is that the NT hasn't won a gold, and I'm treading in very dangerous territory(Namssor's words), so I will throw in my two cents as everyone else has, albeit in the least controversial manner possible. So we have the critics, Southpaw, unreppenantgunner, bla-bla-bla. My thoughts on their attitudes and actions would be this, unless you have the guts to run for NT and have the responsibility of running a team representing our entire nation, across the globe, then you really can't sit back and judge. But you say you wouldn't ever get elected if you did run, well perhaps that shows you that you are not the only ones playing BB, and apparently the majority are happy with the direction Coco is taking this team. That said, perhaps there should be some new tactics implemented, but I think I can trust Coco, jfarb, wozztv, tangoz, and many others when they say that the cost to implement them, manager cooperation, etc are to much of a risk to try and make them work. Also would Coco deliberately hinder the NT team from being the best they can be, I hardly think so with the way he gets shredded apart now. I think that if the BB community feels they need a different coach, then they will be the ones to vote one in, not a few criticizers with little intention of helping the situation, or even trying to understand it. I also think what Coco said made tons of sense. He's been coach for two S and no we may not have a title, but we do have a greatly improved team thanks to the man, the legend, Coco. Thats it, now lets sit back and wait for the results, peacefully, if possible.
