I only had 2 games, didn't train game shape, had like 4 players under 48 minutes and somehow ended up with pretty good game shape... Not sure why.

Ah, that makes sense, thanks.

(I also only had 2 games and multiple injuries)

Never question good game shape, be thankful. I have had ideal minutes all season and certain players are barely strong.

GS does what GS wants.

Partially blank lineups.

In a season where I'm mostly just training and not expecting to progress, I was wondering what the negatives would be to setting my trainee in position and Strictly Follow Depth Chart with the rest of the lineup blank?

Assuming I leave about 8 other players on the active roster, the only thing I'd have to worry about is making sure not to overplay players by the end of the week right?

I might be missing something . Never tried a lineup without a position filled before.

Will that not place players of highest salary into these positions in order: PG SG SF PF C? (skipping the position of your trainee)

I thought SFDC and not setting a depth chart was a no-no.

If you remember me, then I don't care if everyone else forgets.

Oh yeah, use ''Let Coach Decide' with blank line-up. I think that is a thing.

Your (Aliasego) manual trainee placement will still apparently work.

I'm about halfway through my first game with one position set, and the rest blank. So far it's working out better than expected. My highest salary players were made to be my other starters, but the substitutions are pretty interesting to watch. The minutes are fairly balanced, and players are in every position. My normal C has played from PG to PF already.

I'll have to review after the game is done, but this could be my new training method. If minute distribution is becoming an issue, I'll just use it on short weeks only.

Bah. My trainee got benched after 36 minutes (blow-out win). Guess I'll keep evaluating

try setting trainee as both starter, sub, and reserve. also, dont forget to set 'let the coach decide'. still doesnt guarantee 48 minutes though

He was set in all 3 positions, and I used Strictly Follow Depth Chart.

No foul trouble, but he was taken out right after garbage time was declared.

Partially messed up minutes for my next games trainee, but that's not a huge concern. It was worth a try.
