Well he's a good example why this feature is a good idea.

I wouldn't particularly want to tank. I would have out of necessity, and still plan to.

If you'd like to arbitrate and articulate a plan for me, you can. You do seem interested in this. I could hand you my financial details and you could tell me whether or not competing is practical or if tanking is a better solution. You're unaffected by these changes, I see that. I'm jealous. These changes were hastily done at best. It's putting a bandage on a broken leg.

No, he's a good example of why this feature is a bad idea.

Most people tank out of necessity, because they can't compete at the level they've been promoted to. All this does is lock them into a cycle of mediocrity.

Well you forbid having a copmpetitive roster only when it matters. It the team can't win more than just a few games and play to do a spurt for it in the second half of season - now such a team would have to keep quite an expensive roster (depends on particular league). Shame.

And your argument worries me - if someone would find a way (let's say so called realistic) to get ahead by good longterm planning, will you ban what he did and tweak the game so it would be fun for Joe average once again? I'm not necessarily speckaing about clubs but NTs as well.

I dont agree with u. Few seasons ago there were tough times for young blood becose they werent able to collect 10M to keep up. Nowadays when old teams have no room to better their squads just to adjust them or tank it is way more easier to buy cheap 27yo fella or train off position very desireable guy. Just check b3 how many new teams showed up, check best leagues if there is that much everlast teams on top. I personaly love the new floor feature.

What about promoting in two seasons? In three? Not everyone tanks expecting to re-promote the very next season. In fact, I would think if people decide to tank it's because they realize that their long-term viability just isn't that good.

Also, what do you mean exactly by break-even? Because if I'm overmatched in a league, and I'm going to demote anyway, is there that big of a difference between winning 2-3 games and winning zero games?

I mean, I appreciate that you're trying to improve the game experience for everyone. I think tanking in the top leagues is an issue (like in the NBBA the past couple of seasons), but there's also a real issue of the huge leap between leagues.

For example, I went 22-0 in a D3 league this past season, and promoted into a D2 league where I'll be fighting for the 7th seed. The temptation to tank is strong, rather than piss away time/effort/money on a slim chance of sticking around, because I know I need drastic changes to be able to compete in the future. With the salary floor, my options haven't changed, they've just all become less effective. This doesn't stop tanking, or change it, it just makes it even less effective than it already was.
