I guess with new engine the ball never goes out of bounds just bounce into the air and waits for someone to rebound it even a guy with rebounding at 1 when his man doesn't look.

From my tonight observations it looks like paint expanded beyond 3pt line. Or Look Inside means just looking not going there.

Thank you for this great post. You hit the nail right on the head. All the thinks you metioned came in my mind when I first read about these changes and I am happy that there are more people in BB who think in the same way. And since I am not able to write it any better I just sign the post as a whole. I think there could have been found other solutions to the problem (bigger and bigger arenas), which wouldnt have thrown over the long term strategies.

It's more about having balance. You act like its now going to be ok to have a 5k arena and you'll end up with the same cash flow as those that invested in their arena.

The way arena's were going it would take so many seasons to find the money to build a 30k-50k+ arena to compete with the top teams that it's not even worth the effort.

On top of this, you still get all that money back you invested if what you built isn't efficient. Oh, and players are better and cheaper then ever.

I see.

But I don't see there was a problem then. (EDIT: with the arena sizes , I meant problem with arena sizes)

The expansion of arena's may be unlimmited (each user decides if he wants to grow it or not), yet the amount of spectators is an other thing.

If up to now the amount of spectators was dependant on the arenasize, you are right in changing it, because it shouldn't.
Amount of spectators should be the same no matter what the size of the arena, only depending on the league one is in, their ticket prices, the PR guy and their successes. If then the arena is to small, it will sell out mostly, if to big, it will never sell out. If to small and too much money was put in players and now they have too high wages and arena income isn't sufficient, there has been a managemental mistake, and the maker of the mistake should feel the consequenses.

That some managers decide to invest most of their money in players, and just a small fraction in everything else, should not be a dureable strategy, because the game holds more facets then just players and playing. And the way I read it now, seems that just a minimal investment in arena would be sufficient, there will be no need anymore to create a balanced financial plan.
The ones who do not put much money in players, and don't need much to maintain them, will get less revenue, while the ones investing a lot in players, and paying high wages, will get more revenue.

I know how much time and effort you guys put in to finding solutions, and I don't want to just break it down. I just wonder if there isn't any other solution which will have the same result you guys are looking for, which , in the better case, might increase the experience?

It also doesn't matter if we can sell part of the arena and get the money back. It's not about the money. It's about the gaming experience. It's like someone already stated. Do we want the arena expansion button to stay untouched, just like a few other buttons already? I think it is part of the game, part of the fun that is going to be burried here...
As I already stated I will not break down my arena, and my planned project is still up and running. The money doesn't interest me.
So if everyone excuses me now, I have to place an other order for arenaseats. ;)

Many users in Lithuania aren't happy about new game engine..And i don't like it too.The first round results in the league were crazy..Why now when defending in zone, guards defending centers or centers defending guards?? that is insane..I think after this change, 1x1 defensive tactics is the best..Now even if you know that your opponet will use "Look inside" it's no point to defend in 2-3 zone, because your Point guards will defend opposing teams centers? I wouldn't be unlucky if that would happen rearly - 2-3 times per game, but now it happens all day long..And this has no point..
Another one thing is about some insane results of the quarters.. Look at this game in Latvia. (13411720) Team "Laachi" had better tactics in this game, and this team leaded at half time 70:39. After 3 quarters result almost didn't changed - 91:64. But what happened in last quarter?? Team "CC13" started insane comeback, they won last quarter 42:15 and it was overtime! In overtime "CC13" won the game even with wurther tactics..And i believe it's not the only one example..
Rebounds got insane now too..Some players has insane number of rebounds in the game..Look at this game (13273402), 2 players in the same team had a rebound number +30..Where have you seen it in real life? :)
And believe me i'm not the only one player of this manager who isn't happy about new game engine..And i write this post to let all of you know what we thinking..And i would like to have an explanation about that defense and about those insane quarters..
P.S Sorry for bad english :)

I got to say i agree with this.

A lot of top teams i think have played follow the leader when we've seen other teams arenas expanding.

If someone builds to find their Season Ticket Holders cant fill up the stadium who's fault is that... its greed.. the same as buying 1 too many players... thats a decision the manager has to live by.

Seems that it would be simply to just adjust the maximum amount of fans that can ever attend a game irrespective of how cheap you price your tickets. This way going from 35,000 - 40,000 could just be a total waste of money and thats a decision you just have to live with.

take the number who actually is in the game, and don't reducing it further - maybe you end up with 60k whih would be ok too - and don't forget with that prices it takes several season to get the money back.
