Season 66
Arena Capacity: 7722 (+0)
Season Ticket Holders: 973 (+20)

Your Buckner Bandits had a bit of an eye opening year last year. Season 64 was an over performing year, season 65 was met with a nice competitive league. Owner T-Lit had some family focus activities, and then summer hit so he stepped away from the team for most of the season.

The Bandits still finished above .500 for the season and the players who played, (Owner forgot to cycle through training) got a lot of training in.

As for this years expectation and the draftees, well the draftees are all fired except Thad Wagner, our 2nd round pick. A 19 year old Perennial All star talent who will get some time with the third team if the owner remembers to log in and set the lineups! The outlook for the year is as always, improve the youngsters, stay Homegrown, and make the playoffs! I believe we can do all those things!

We will not raise any ticket prices again this year, we are saving for our 4 million dollar arena. It will take us a few seasons, but we can do it!

Testing out this Chat GPT Thing...

Last game:
The Buckner Bandits cruised to a commanding 99-60 victory over the Rushville Mates in a lopsided league game at Rushville Mates Center. The Bandits showcased their dominance on both ends of the court, shooting a stellar 53% from the field and 46.2% from beyond the arc, while holding the Mates to a dismal 25.9% shooting overall.

First Half Overview:
The Buckner Bandits started off strong, quickly establishing a double-digit lead behind the efficient scoring of M. Hunt and G. Patterson. Hunt was a force at both ends of the floor, finishing the game with 26 points on an impressive 12-of-16 shooting. His relentless energy on the glass, with 8 rebounds, and solid defense (+33 plus/minus) set the tone for the Bandits. Patterson also made his mark early, chipping in with 13 points on 6-of-7 shooting, grabbing 10 rebounds, and blocking passing lanes with 3 assists.

Buckner Bandits: Key Performances
W. Moore was a workhorse for Buckner, logging 47 minutes and grabbing a game-high 19 rebounds. Although he struggled to find his shooting rhythm, hitting just 7-of-17 from the field, his presence in the paint and rebounding contributed greatly to the team’s success. He finished with 15 points and was instrumental in limiting Rushville's second-chance opportunities, registering a game-high +40 plus/minus.

P. Polo played a key role in orchestrating the offense, dishing out 8 assists while contributing 12 points on efficient 5-of-8 shooting. His court vision and ball distribution helped the Bandits outpace the Mates, especially in transition. J. Schuster added 9 assists off the bench, facilitating ball movement and ensuring the Bandits never lost control.

The Bandits' depth showed with balanced scoring from multiple players. T. Lawler (8 points), J. Costello (11 points), and J. Briggs (7 rebounds) all made key contributions in a game that saw every player take part in the scoring and rebounding efforts.

Rushville Mates: Struggles on Offense
The Rushville Mates couldn’t get any offensive rhythm going, shooting just 22-of-85 from the floor, including a horrendous 4-of-25 from three-point range (16%). R. Quintana was the lone bright spot, scoring 19 points and grabbing 8 rebounds, but his inefficient 8-of-20 shooting reflected the team's struggles.

Point guard D. Fournier had a rough night, scoring just 11 points on 4-of-16 shooting, though he managed to contribute with 3 assists and 3 steals. The rest of the Mates' starting lineup was ineffective. J. Quick scored 9 points and added 6 rebounds, but his 4-of-11 shooting wasn’t enough to provide the spark the team desperately needed.

C. Warden had one of the roughest performances, shooting just 2-of-14 from the field and going scoreless from beyond the arc (0-of-5). His 8 points and 8 rebounds weren’t enough to offset his poor shooting, and he ended with a game-worst -29 plus/minus.

Key Defensive Stats and Rebounding
The Bandits out-rebounded the Mates 57-41, with strong efforts on both ends of the floor. Moore and Patterson combined for 29 rebounds, dominating the interior. On defense, Buckner’s intensity resulted in 8 steals and 7 blocked shots, stifling the Mates’ offensive attempts.

Rushville tried to fight back with second-chance opportunities, pulling down 13 offensive rebounds, but couldn’t capitalize, largely due to their woeful shooting. Center L. Cornish struggled mightily, finishing with just 2 points on 1-of-8 shooting, and missing all four of his free throw attempts.

Second Half:
As the second half wore on, the Bandits continued to build their lead, with contributions from bench players like E. Aillón and J. Schuster, who helped maintain the offensive flow and defensive pressure. The Mates, unable to find any offensive rhythm, saw their deficit balloon to 39 points by the final whistle.

Game Summary: 10/08/24

Buckner Bandits vs. UW-Whitewater Warhawks
In a highly competitive league game, the Buckner Bandits pulled off a critical victory over the UW-Whitewater Warhawks, 90-73, at the D. Weedman Gym. With this win, the Bandits move to a .500 record (3-3), while the Warhawks drop to 4-2, now holding 3rd place in the division.

First Half
The game opened with both teams exchanging early baskets. J. Costello and K. Moore were instrumental for the Bandits, setting the tone on offense with efficient scoring and solid defense. Costello, in particular, showed off his range with 4 three-pointers, keeping the Warhawks on their heels.

The Warhawks, however, struggled to find their shooting rhythm. F. Crisp (4-for-17) and E. Ralston (4-for-11) were unable to get into a groove, as the team shot just 31.7% from the field. Despite their cold shooting, Q. Faulk was a force on the boards, grabbing 19 rebounds, which kept the Warhawks in striking distance.

Second Half
The second half saw the Bandits pulling ahead, largely thanks to their defense and control on the fast break. K. Moore's all-around play (21 points, 9 assists, 4 rebounds) was key in extending their lead. His three-point shooting kept the Warhawks' defense spread, allowing other players like E. Long and J. Briggs to contribute with crucial plays inside the paint.

E. Long was a standout on both ends of the floor, recording 12 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals. His interior defense and ability to block shots made it difficult for UW-Whitewater to execute their offense, as they shot just 27.3% from three-point range.

The Warhawks mounted a brief comeback late in the game, but costly turnovers and missed free throws—12-for-24 from the line—hampered their efforts. T. Bryson and J. Foust contributed in spurts, but the team couldn’t string together enough consistent scoring to close the gap.

Key Players
J. Costello (Bandits): 25 points, 4 three-pointers, 4 rebounds
K. Moore (Bandits): 21 points, 9 assists, 4 rebounds
E. Long (Bandits): 10 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals
Q. Faulk (Warhawks): 10 points, 19 rebounds
F. Crisp (Warhawks): 14 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds
Team Stats
Buckner Bandits: Shot 44.9% from the field (35-for-78), 33.3% from three-point range (10-for-30), and 76.9% from the free-throw line (10-for-13). They also displayed strong ball movement with 28 assists.
UW-Whitewater Warhawks: Struggled offensively, shooting 31.7% from the field (26-for-82) and only 50% from the free-throw line (12-for-24). Despite pulling down more rebounds (52), their 14 turnovers and poor shooting hurt them.
Conclusion
The Buckner Bandits' solid shooting and defense proved to be too much for the Warhawks, who will need to find more consistent offensive production moving forward. The Warhawks' early-season momentum took a hit with this loss, while the Bandits are on the rise, showing they can compete with the best in their division.

Are you throwing the whole game log in there or what are you using as your input? Great idea.

Thats true too, but I feel that this gives a different feel, like a sports article vibe.

Did you see where they used NotebookLM in the national thread to make a AI podcast recap of the last National Game?!?!

I'd advice to work on arena long-term. 7k is really small for someone who played this many seasons already.

Thats true, I was just trying to keep up with what the community tab had.

Currently I am just trying to save up 4mil to get the arena.

I am going with the HomeGrown method, so I am not really in the transfer market.

Once I get the arena, then I will really focus on building the seats out. I have 1.4 mil now.. just waiting it out. :-)
