Yet less than 70 % approval (I forgot to vote, this is done), that's a shame that some use the approval thing to show their discontent when they could just get out of the bush and talk.

Very courageaous indeed ...

i'm surprised you guy's care about the approval rating.

No matter how you slice it, you'll always dissapoint someone or piss someone off. I for a fact am not going to hide that i didn't like the message Guiguits has sent me a while back. I'm fairly certain he meant it well, but his phrasing was less than ideal (and i'm not going to discuss it on the fora. i'm not here to create drama). That doesn't mean that i don't see the good work he and his staff (please do not forget the staff, cause a NT or U21 coach are nothing without the support of their staff) are doing a very good job. I consider your vote a reflection, not just on guiguits or Joe, but on the entire staff.

an U21 and NT manager represent the nation, for better or worse. Their job is to select the best possible team, regardless of if the other manager is your friend or not. As a U21 manager, you are more likely to piss off some people because you are asking them to train a player and after 2 or 3 seasons, they might not get picked, despite the best efforts of the manager to train said player. No matter how you slice it, that manager has sacrificed his time and effort to train a player. Sure, the reward for a team is that they'll have a good player, but if you are being told by an U21 manager that you are training a player for the U21, that U21 players get a bonus for merchandise etc, and when push comes to shove, you don't select them because you got better options at your disposal, then i can imagen that a manager is unhappy and will vote you down.

The bigger question for me is who is downvoting our NT manager. He's having a historic season in terms of output. he came in second in the european championship (our best result to date) and is still being downvoted. Futhermore, anyone who has ever had something to do with the Belgian fanion teams, should know that Joe has build a database for the staff to keep everything going and to make the workload of the staff a lot lighter. He's someone who has enabled a small nation to rival other top nations. He has also invested a lot of time into this game and into the belgian community as a whole. While i haven't always shared his views and opinions on the game, i do respect him for all that he has achieved. So to me, the fact that he's being downvoted is more concerning. As an U21 manager, you'll always piss off some people. As a NT manager, you got a realistic idea if a player can make the NT or not, so if he gets downvoted, i'd reckon it's based on not being honest to someone.

And something you got to also point out about Joe: his loyalty. He's stayed in Belgium. If he wanted to win the World cup, he could have gone to France. With his service record, they'd be absolute idiots not to vote him in and he'd probably get them a world cup or get him very very very close to winning it.

Ps: i've forgotten to mention Angi, cause i think her work cannot be ignored either. Unless if things have changed as of late, she's the 3rd person who should be respected more than anything else. She always works in the shadows and never gets the recognition she deserves for her efforts

I don't "care" about approval rating. I just think his is a childish way to show discontent. The very day Joe and guiguits will have had it, I'm confident Belgium will not be able to maintain the high level of performance that both the NT and U21 are enjoying right now.

If if anyone thinks he can do better, please do. Write down your name during the election, hit the forum and let us now what you're unhappy about and what you would do instead to improve things. But no, that's too much work, let's just downvote :p

When it comes to having players selected or not into the NT, I can say with confidence that my team has provided a HUGE amount of players to the NT (I used to keep track of that but I stopped after 13). I always do my best, but sometimes one gets injured, caps early, or is overshadowed by a fantastic draftee the next season. That happens, but even when it does, you end up with a great player, which what playing the game is about. Not to mention that the required level to make it to the national teams has greatly improved (yes, I still remember when 18 OD was almost a guaranteed NT spot), which properly reflects the progress made at international level.

About Joe, I'm not sure he would be too delighted with training the french NT, but that's just my opinion.

As soon as Joe quits, then the scouting will crumble and the lvl will drop. you'll only notice it 8 to 10 seasons after Joe leaves. Not throwing shade onto Guiguits, but i think you (Dartreb) or another BBBL manager could run the U21. Joe (and Angi?) are the key pieces.

i mean, what is the point of even trying at this point? you'd have to go back to 2022 to see a Speech posted for an election. it's 8 seasons ago. Futhermore, the reason the U21 and NT is working is because the staff as a whole put the time into it. If someone else comes along and puts in equal amount of time, then maybe it could work too. But that is the key part. The time is the big issue.

back then 120k for a player was pushing it for your economy.

i'm referring to the situation that he could run in their election and he would with near certainty get elected. The French would make an exception for Joe to be their Nt manager, cause i doubt they'd accept anyone else that isn't french to be their NT or U21 manager.
