Thank you for your re-election as the head of NT!
We are entering the 67th season.
Our team is gradually getting stronger, and last season we finally added two young players (Belcher and MacCosram) who are developing and already competing for a place in the starting lineup. There will also be losses soon, Peter Lyle is already 36 years old, he received several skill drops last season, this season is his last. He's currently the record holder for the most matches and points in NT history, but it seems like Alistair Boyd will beat him to it in the future. Boyd and MacShimes are also already 35 years old, I hope that they will avoid a big drop in skills this season.
In terms of perspective, the group of the European Championship is traditionally difficult and competitive. Croatia, Wales, Turkey, Bulgaria, Andorra, Greece, Slovenia. It's only with Wales and Andorra that we firmly want and must win. It will be very difficult with the other teams. Let's see what happens.

The opening two matches of the group stage were played.
Scotland 96 - 113 Croatia. The form of our players was not high before the game, there was no point in setting the mood high. Croatia is stronger than us and we naturally lost, although we looked pretty good in some places. Well, the 3-2 zone against a close-range attack hardly brought us an advantage.
Wales 94 - 108 Scotland. I expected a more confident victory, but the opposing players scored three-pointers pretty well and we also lost the rebound a bit.
Then there are difficult games with Turkey and Bulgaria.

Scotland 92 - 106 Turkey. Great game from us, we gave a serious fight to a really strong opponent. After the third quarter, the score was +11, but we didn't have enough for the last quarter, the opponent made an incredible breakthrough, scoring 47 points. The low level of endurance of some players hinders us a lot at the end of matches. Using Princeton, I really like the distribution of shots and the percentage of three-pointers. However, the opponent used the 4+1 internal zone, which in my understanding is a very experimental tactic.
Bulgaria 130 - 96 Scotland. The Bulgarians showed that they are in 4th place in the world ranking for a reason, defeating us in all quarters. At the same time, their community is small, less than 90 users, and their players show very high ratings. It seems that this is a long-term thoughtful project that really works. According to the game, we tried slow tactics to slow down the pace of the game. It didn't work out very well, but I'm happy with the FG percentage and the number of assists. Despite the final result, we don't look hopeless, which is encouraging.
There are matches with Andorra and Greece ahead, we already played with them last season, we need to show a better result than then.
