(AP) After six seasons in Germany, K22 has finally found a suitor to relocate the club. In the end, they didn't have to look further than the end of the bench to find their new owner. Former Ghana League One all-star Djiby Thiongane, more famous for his outstanding effort in scrimmages last year, made a generous offer to acquire the fourth tier club after they failed to reach the finals in back to back seasons.
With speculation swirling over the club's future, Thiongane wasted no time in announcing the team's relocation to Berekuso, a small town north of Accra. With only a handful of teams in the local area, the Jacanas are partnering with Ashesi University to build a stadium that should reach a capacity of 21,000. In addition, the team will focus on developing local talent, putting their current roster in flux.
