Dahlia Mavericks relegated to League V

Quezon City, Philippines -- The Dahlia Mavericks didn't know what hit them. They were up 1-0 in the best of three series against Stoke Far Kerrs and they were blown out of their arena in the finale 87-70 as they will be relegated to League V.

"I would say inexperience," GM Nicolo Maro said. "they didn't play at the worst time."

The Mavericks were actually up 21-18 to end the first quarter but they went downhill from there. Kerr's outscored them 35-21 in the second quarter to 53-42. The Mavs were still flat-footed entering the third as they only scored 11 points while Kerr's had 21. They were trailing 74-53 entering the fourth.

Rob Craverio's crunch time performance has been heavily scrutinized as he only tallied 4 points and 12 rebounds albeit in 25 minutes. "We didn't feel the urgency on a do-or-die game," a fan quipped. Another one said, "we didn't feel his performance at all."

Coach Sean was quick to point out that "perhaps I didn't made the proper adjustments in the game" but it was simply a very bad night for his players.

Ahmet Ozerdal led all scorers with 27 points all playing 48 minutes. Another Kerrs player Lee Collette logged 48 minutes notching 11 points. "That's the urgency we noticed" a fan shouted.

Jim Paredes led the Mavs with 14 points but the player of the game was Kerr's Leif Feltgan who almost had a triple-double with 18 points, 13 rebounds and 9 assists.

The approach of the Mavericks management for this team is different. They will not be afraid to "pull the trigger" to the players who do not perform. It seems they had their eyes set on Cravero with his recent struggles..
