There have been many great NBBA teams, but almost all of them are famous for championship runs and single-season dual championships. The Visionaries are on a historic undefeated streak, possibly one for the ages. How do they do it? Spend money. How do they raise it? We gotta find out.
First, the roster. 18 players on the roster; at least half would have trouble making a DIII roster; the rotation is maybe 7 - 8 players. Almost the entirety of the $1.4 million is concentrated here, with $1.3 million to six players. There are 3 NT players, 2 of them from the USA. Very little homegrown impact, from a cursory glance. i would imagine spending for coaches other than a Doctor is minimal; same for PR. His arena page doesn't show evidence of a infrastructure empire.
Revenues: Must start with the stunning game revenue: in the last match, $620,000. The stadium produces $23,000 in sponsorships. From my notes, TV is $285,000 and merch $160,000; my guess is TV is slightly higher and the Visionaries merch may be 50% more, or $240,000. Not sure how to guess a weekly boost from Cup winnings (not that far), B3 (winning more than losing, $50,000 a win?), successful playoff run.
Put it this way: Total spending, $1.5 million. Total estimable revenue: $1.175 million. The $325,000 shortfall is easily cleared by the Cup, B3, and playoff money.
Conclusion: Peluin may be making a profit after covering a $1.4 million salary. wow.
