That's a different way to think between US and Europeans players maybe.

Few years ago yes, but in last years Europe basketball is becoming like NBA and everyone trying to get more profit from it and easiest way is to put 3 games weekly with all travelling across the Europe... but it's too wide to speak of.

Anyway, imho France have biggest chance of winning this WC.

I think there is no option than to abandom national tournaments for the euroleague teams in the future. And this is good for the sport itself, for the quality and popularity of the game. What we have now is imagine in USA every state having 10-20 teams total ~700 teams lets say and only top teams of each state would play in NBA alongside state championship. It is bullshit right? This is what we have nowadays in europe, we have bullshit. Talent is so diluted, quality diluted. Shedules filled with unimportant games . I think in this situation everyone loses, the fans, the basketball as a whole itself, and the players because less popularity means less money from tv rights and sponsors.
I would like to see european league, where teams only compete in the highest league. It could be like 2 tiers europe wide like it is euroleague and eurocup; and smaller regional leagues like balcals as we have now and for example baltics we used to have. Maybe there could be some cups, it would generate some nice interest. Similar as we have in most of the esports. There are global leagues + tournaments/cups. Esports doing it right, we doing it wrong. Would not be suprised if second most popular sport after soccer would be some esport someday.

Another issue is most of the clubs are sponsored heavily, especially russian and turkish ones. They not making proffit, and part of that cause is basketball being unatractive to average customer. All the teams should be somewhat proffitable and buying titles should be banned. Like Fifa did with transparency of economics for the clubs. Euroleague had added few years ago some rules, but they still far away from what they should be.

And thoughts about national teams: Again, everyone loose because of biggest start not participating in tournaments. We have qualifications for worlcup which were gently speaking 3-rd tier. Now we have 2-nd tier championship called worldcup. This is ridiculous. Why would customer want to watch it? It is like drinking diluted beer, would you like that?. It is FIBA job mostly to encourage players to participate in NT games, they could pay clubs/players for participation like FIFA does, in addition they could provide insurance in case of an injury.

BTW i support Autralia, i think they will beat France in the finals.

My wish is to win against Spain in finals. We have so much past between us. Our "best enemy".

I can imagine Simmons being unhappy about his decision if they win it all.

Their offensive flow wouldn't be as good with him. Just saying...

Lillard and McCollum had a deep playoff run this year and as far as I remember they played a lot in the regular season too. So, I can kinda understand their decision, but it was still disappointing.
For Beal it's different. Sure, his regular season might have been tiring, but he has had the summer off, as always. WC could have been a highlight in his career. Can't imagine he's really looking forward to next season. The Wizards will be at the bottom again, no matter what Beal does.
Was Love even invited to Team USA? Well, I just spotted his name
AD would have been great for the frontcourt, but he's injury prone and was probably afraid to get hurt again. Annoying, but still reasonable. Lowry did have surgery, so he was off the table anyway.

Harris and Randle also would have been helpful...

You are most likely right, but I'm sure, Ben doesn't give a shit ;)
In any case he would have been a nice addition. Not sure about the team chemistry though.

Some prediction contest stuff - sorry for not putting semifinalists earlier, deadline's moved to 10 AM CET to give you a chance of making your tips.

Given how well Mills has played, I'd rather have Maker or Bolden there as a backup to or starter over Landale.
