Maybe it will happen someday. The biggest problem for BB right now is you don't have anybody with the needed time to delve into the code and make major changes - Marin can only do so much. But if we talk about ideas, maybe BBs will look into it once they find someone who can modify code enough to make these changes. Maybe it will not happen in 3-4 seasons' time, but I'll be happy also if it happens after 8 seasons (2 years from now IRL).

I still don't understand why, with a global product, they don't hire some programmer from India or Nigeria for $5 an hour.

Probably because they don't want their product to leak somewhere...

But you are right, they should hire someone. I was just browsing yesterday for other basketball games and BB has the biggest user base by far. Second biggest userbase is something like 22k. So even with all the dropping in userbase, we are still firmly in first place.

cause they will go and sell it for a meal to feed their family.

anyways.... i think this D-league is a possibility, if, as ive said in another thread i think, if, they dont have actual game engine driven games.

So basically, you would pay your money, have a 'nominated player' play in the D-league as per yoda's comments..... and thats it. you dont have to worry about setting a lineup, or tactics, or any stuff like that, just a little message to say
Player X will be trained in blah this week.
don't even worry about minutes/game shape/stats......
have them automatically stay at Respectable game shape, so if you bring them back into your normal roster there is no worries there.

the only issue as others have said - how would this benefit the lower leagues? Sure asking a Div II or III team to pay up $200k a season is useful, but not for Div V.

BUT i do have an added suggestion which may help with this......... Instead of it being just a straight 'take away $20k per week'... why not have it integrated as part of the draft.scouting points?
So you can choose between scouting points, or putting $$ into a D-league player. At least that way, the lower divisions don't have to come up with additional cash AND, seeing as though most of the teams in the upper leagues don't spend money on scouting points and utilise the draft, it gives them another option there.

D League could benefit D5 teams to a certain extent, although it would be hard.

It would open another training slot for your trainees. Maybe in the League team you can train a guard, and in the D League train a big man. In the D League, you can have the youngsters gain exp. while the Big Guns go out there and get minutes. To some extent, the D5 guy can make his D League team useful (ie getting another training spot) But 200k a season, is ehhhhhhh

hope you get what i mean.

It will never happen but the $200,000 was just a once off cost to establish the new team. From then on it is just the running costs which I am assuming can be partially offset if the team is successful on the court.

It will never happen

Stop being so negative - did you see how quickly they implemented the 'Bid Confirmation' suggestion? So you never know!

Or are you trying to spite the BB's into making it? haha

Let's stay positive. :) Maybe it will happen in season 35, hehe ...

To be honest, I just want the game to be closer to the reality. D-league suggestion is good, street basketball game is also good ... let's give BB more ideas to improve the game and attract more people to play this game.

Maybe let BB conduct a trial run first, say start the D-League for D5 teams in season 27. Let's see the difference and the feedback.
