BB time frame is 14 weeks (14 trainings from birthday to birthday ;-) )

That was my error.

14 is correct.

This is what I meant.
Or Maybe we could arrange two games in allstar week?

Sorry for the misunderstanding, Paul George.

And yes...2 games in the Allstar Week should help us get through the schedule in time...I think.

Weeks 1-12 - Round Robin (with 2 games in Allstar week)
Week 13 - Pre-Playoffs and Quarter Finals
Week 14 - Semis (Gold and Bronze Games)

?

Yes, starting to look very good. You could, if you want, add something along the lines of "in order of point differential in match(es) between these exact teams being compared, and if that's tied, then point differential of the whole regular season" at the end of your sentence "IF this is also tied, then point differential will be used." This is not critical addition by any means, but at least now I've added this suggestion. On the other hand, if you agree with it and add it, at least it's there then to enable possible discussion about it (should someone strongly disagree about that for instance).

I understand your point, but I really don't think we need it at this point. You are likely going to be the
Administrator/Coordinator of the League...so if this becomes an eventuality, which isn't that likely, you could make a decision then. I'm just mindful of scaring off managers with too many additional 'clauses' at this point.
I know you still want to discuss 'penalties' too. As Erik alluded to, I think we keep it relatively simple, easy to understand, and get it going.

We have 14 teams.
We have pretty much locked in the system we will use and the time it is going to take to do it.
We just need to:

1. Make sure all participants are familiar with PickUp Games and 'tokens'
2. Save enough of them to have a minimum of 5 or 6 tokens (can only organise 2 months ahead) for start of Season 68
3. Understand that being and staying 100% HG is a prerequisite for competing
4. Finalise a few simple rules to make sure everyone knows what will happen in some basic situations

So, still a bit to do, but we should try and keep it as simply as possible. This is just my opinion of course. I'm all for detailed planning (I'm a school teacher), but the start of Seaosn 68 will come around pretty quick.

Hey there, T-Lit.

yes there is. I created this one a little while ago and it seems it's been locked to keep, which is nice.

Yes, this could work out well. Either 2 matches on first week of the season, or during the all-star break but at least we'd have to get that 2 match week organized at the beginning of the season that nobody needs to try to remember which one was the week when we play 2 matches instead of one.

Or, if we want to play playoffs with one match per week schedule (I´m ok with both options), we can play enough matches with 2 match/week pace at the beginning of the season to enable us to play 1 match per week (regular season and playoff play) for the remainder of the season.

I don't know if we're going to have an actual all star match though, but that would also be an interesting idea.

If having an all-star match we would also need to consider some things, for instance how voting for that would work out - I guess we can figure something out if we want to play it - and for instance make it impossible to vote for your own players in the all-star voting to make voting more balanced/fair/sensible. However, without someone keeping/updating some kind of player stats from the league it would be somewhat unrealistic to expect a sensible/considerate result out of that vote as probably nobody can keep up with the performance of other teams players in this league).

I agree trying to keep it somewhat simple. I still think that there should be some additions/refinements to certain rules, but perhaps we can discuss about them mainly by BB-mail instead of forum, come up with some kind of suggestion and see if people will agree with that suggestion. What do you think about this suggestion?

I also agree there's still a bit to do and while start of season is maybe 9-10 weeks away, there's no time to waste either. We need to remember that no one of us works for BB, so because of real life obligations and stuff, most of us have limited time to use for BB, and therefore it is good idea to keep progressing things somewhat continuously, at least little by little, which will get us to the goal in time (or actually likely a bit ahead of time, which is good).

So time flies fast like you mentioned, and that's why I wrote that I find starting this season to be too much of a hassle (if and as we want to do it as well and in organized manner as possible and not play 2 matches per week for the whole season), and want to have everything truly ready and though out before we start. And things will be ready in time and getting that done will be, not a piece of cake now that you took more active role here MrJ, but at least a task that we surely can accomplish nevertheless. You seem to be good at condensing things, so that'll be very helpful for others as you seem to be able to translate my essays into a format that's easier to read/comprehend. ;)

I was referring to the middle of the season when the Allstar matches across all leagues occur.

If you were referring to the League we are creating somehow having an Allstar match...I can't see how that would be possible unless it was a purely fantasy version?

As for keeping stats on players and teams during the League---as mucvh as I love stats (for my own team)---I think this task to great for anyone.

MVP votes, however, could be achieved and monitored. :-)

I kind of knew what you meant, but that awoke the idea of a possible all-star match. Like, as you mentioned, with the knowledge/ideas/resources we have at the moment, would be very difficult to organize also because we only have control on our own players and do not have any other platform in where to simulate BB games results "reliably".

As for MVP votes - why not, however, how would other teams have the complete idea of leagues' players (who is better than who) without being able to compare player stats? :) I bet I can hardly keep up with my own players, let alone all other competing teams players... ;P

Keeping stats for the average Joe for the duration of regular season would be too much very likely, I agree. Someone of us would have to have enough time and decent enough knowledge of scripts etc. in Excel (or know coding) to be able to harvest all the important stats automatically from the box scores. Don't look at me, I'm not the person who knows how to do that... :D

Neither do I know how to build a website, but actually I think it would be ideal if we'd even have an own website for the homegrown league in the future as well! Not a necessity of course, but I'd find that kind of a cool addition, which would make BBHG league feel even more special!
