Timi Steggall, Serpent Trainee, known affectionately by fans as 'Taipan', was given maximum minutes in the Relegation series post season. The Taipan led the way on Tuesday night with 28 points as the team shocked the Mighty Woefuls with a 9-point away win. After such a good training season, Coach MrJ decided to let the Taipan once again play 48 minutes tonight and he didn't disappoint. Charged with playing out of position at PG, while defending the Woefuls' $70k SF superstar, Waller, the Taipan and Waller put on a blockbuster 4th quarter for Serpent fans. Both SFs unloaded for 19 points each in the final quarter as each tried to out-do the other. Waller finished the game with 43 points and the Taipan's 46 points helped the Serpents sweep the Woefuls 2-0. "This was a relegation series to remember," Coach MrJ told the press post-game. "That these 7 players were able to achieve this was outstanding!" he added.
