Dispo the Great

Red Horse Beermen wins 3 straight games as Pilipinas NT Superstar Johnas Dispo had another great game with 28 points 16 Rebounds 2 assists 1 steal and two blocks with 9-10 free throw shooting to defeat Zebu Mayas 90 to 78. Dispo was virtually unstoppable in the center spot fouling Jimmy Militar of Zebu Mayas who only logged 13 minutes of playtime. Val Evangelista had another great game with 25 points 5 steals and 1 rebound as he continues to shine for Zebu Mayas this season.

"By the looks of things Red Horse Beermen will be the team to beat in league 2.4 if Dispo plays as he is playing right now. You can only hope to contain him not stop him. Good luck trying to do that though." said Lolo Smithz as his team suffered its first loss of the season. "The good news though Val Evangelista is starting to show his potential getting more consistent in every game he has played this season. Hopefully by next season he will the the player we envisioned him to be after we took a risk of buying him from the TL for millions in transfer fees."

In League 2.4 Great 8 three teams are still undefeated Marine Admirals, Cinense Surveying and Red Diablos all sporting a 3-0 record.

His Prime, his time.

Approaching his 3rd season in his PPL comeback, Tambays swingman Ulan Cantara is in his prime at 26 years old. He is averaging 24.7 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 4.7 apg (all career highs) this season. He also improved his FG% from 43.6% on season 27 up to 45.8% this season despite having little support from his teammates. "This is a great season for me in terms of individual performance, I just need some good players with me. Our team performance on season 27 was good, I hope our GM cezzz will bring back that kind of roster again. I want to be a champion next season, or else, I'll request for a transfer." Cantara said.

Injuries, and bad moves.

The Tambays had a great season 27, they placed 2nd in their conference and gave a commanding win over O-Beshimi giving them their only loss on that season. But Cantara's championship hopes were shattered before the playoffs. Their starting PG, Turk Bin-Sulaiman suffered a severe ankle sprain and can't play for a week thus the Tambays we're eliminated at the semis vs Dagonoy Valets. "It pains me to remember that injury, seeing our Point Guard injured before the playoffs, it made us lower our morale. But I took that as a motivation to work hard and be the best as I can be." Ulan said.

At season 28, Cantara's salary suddenly reached 6 digits and the management had no choice to sell Ulan's fellow NT player, Wenrestica Feca (200k+ salary). Acquiring some decent player on season 28, Ulan Cantara and his fellow training mate, Ernest Pacquing, finished with 5th place. The management decided to let go of Turk Bin-Sulaiman and Ernest Pacquing, earning $ 3 525 700 which made the management excited because of that loads of money. But the dark age of the Tambays came.

First, the acquisition of Patricio Marchesini. He showed a defensive skillset and promised an elite interior defense for the Tambays with a bit of hustle. Unfortunately, he struggled, only posting 11.4 ppg, 11 rpg and 3.1 fpg in 21 games and have no chemistry between him and other players. Second is Tin Jun To. Again, he showed promise in his skills and stats and considered a combo guard, only have 11.4ppg and 4.2 assists (career low). Mihály Szamosi: another combo guard who got a decent 15ppg but still fails to blend with Ulan. Lastly, the move that the management deeply regrets, the acquisition of Joseph MacWalter. He has the same skillset of Tambay's past and successful Point Guard, Gustavo Diamondi. Purchased for 750k, he showed a dismal 6.7ppg, 5.2 apg after being injured for 3-4 weeks and got sold soon for 500k because it wasn't clearly working for the team.

Right now, the team is slowly recovering. They are 6-3 after All star break, losing only to Team Initiative, Lonely Hearts Club and Zenaida Dragons (Ulan didn't catch the flight back home here). The real question is, will this streak continue on season 30? Will they get a decent PG like Turk Bin-Sulaiman? Will the team be a championship contender next season? Will Ulan stay? We never know. Ulan quoted during his rookie days that he will be a Tambay forever, but why is he threatening to be transferred? Is he doing what Kobe did before they acquired Pau Gasol? We'll find out!

Manila Bombers Punches Ticket for Fourth Straight II.2 Finals

Led by Julius Caesar Borja, the Bombers scored 34 points in the fourth quarter en route to a 87-79 victory. Matched up against MACHINE Elements, is it time for the Bombers to go back to PPL or will they be a punching bag as was in the matchups against LAYA FC, d brothers and All In?

BC Kidapawan crushed by Team Dugon Bughaw.

BC Kidapawan crushed by Team Dugong Bughaw in game one on the league IV.8 finals. Celedonio Dullano lead TDB with 38pts hitting 6 out of 8 the arc. While Gian Angioni lead BCK with 22pts.

"We just couldnt kept up with them. Sila ang isa sa mga respetadong team dito. Ika nga nila mga baguhan lang we are just gaining experience. Mas less experienced kami dito kompara sa kanila at malaking advantage yun para sa kanila. Will go back to drawing and review para kung ano pa ang pwede namin ma adjust para di naman lalong ma dissapoint ang mga fans na nanonod kasi ang pangit na tambakan kami championship pa naman. " said Kenneth Tubog after the game.

BCK is now 0-2 overall against TDB. Game 2 will be on thursday 1/17/15 and will be play at Kidapawan Sports Complex. And a must win for BCK to force Do-or-Die.

MarineAdmirals upsets Arcanix Men in its PPL return

In its first game back in PPL, MarineAdmirals played their hearts out against last season's PPL runner-up Arcanix Men. Led by G. Nanning's 26pts & 13rebs and A. Ben-Gigi's 23pts & 15rebs; MAD had to play CT against the unsuspecting JAM team to grab a 79-91 win. JAM led by 2pts going to the halftime break but MAD went on a 11-25 3rd Quarter run to grab the lead.

Paced by Aranyos-Rakosi's 24pts, JAM kept the game close all throughout despite MAD's Home Court Advantage and the big enthusiasm difference. "This must be the first time I see a team play CT on their first game. Who plays CT on the first game?!" says Magnin during the postgame interview.

"Looking at both teams, surely noone will think of us winning. We had to resort to all tactics needed just to win the game. Luckily we got the W despite the wrong defensive sets. With our current roster, we've decided to give up on future games just to win some and hopefully not get relegated.". says GM wizard535.

Second Team:
Dahlia Mavericks
Time to restart

Akainu's Lair, Fairview -- After defaulting their do-or-die Game 3 matchup two seasons ago against Edeno Uno for the right to advance in the Philippine Premier League, the Dahlia Mavericks changed their name to Absolute Justice last season to seek 'vengeance'.

They were contemplating to move-on from the league but the passion evidently burns stronger than the mishap.

Absolute Justice was breezing through the first half of the season until the mid-year when the injury bug took care of them. Injuries to Josefina Dieta in the season finale made the GM to trade him hastily as bad luck was on their side. James Castillo was also sideline for almost a month right at the finish line.

They fought valiantly in the playoffs but ultimately succumbed to home team Global 9 in Season 29.

With all but 5/15 players in the market, it's time to say goodbye.

The transfer of Fillmore Sabangan, Erben Parado, James Castillo, Rennor Villegas and Renald Geonanga are all but assured.

"We want to give our veterans a chance to compete for the Finale," GM Nicolo Maro said. "we mean to advance and reach the PPL or at the championship which we could not foresee."

GM Nicolo Maro has been contemplating to 'restart' for such a long time but he felt that this is the season wherein they have to 'let go.'

"We are not getting younger anymore, our team is composed of wily veterans and they have done their part and another season together won't do it," he said.

"We have to evaluate our future, what we want to accomplish, our enjoyment, the business-side, time, everything to continue," he added.

According to the GM, no need to highlight what the players have done especially Fillmore, "Geo" and Rennor. "They have been terrific in their stay with our team."

Unlike other teams, Absolute Justice doesn't thrive in 'buy and sell' as they actually take care of their players and wants them to be part of organization long-term. In addition, they're the only team in their league with an All-Filipino lineup to boast.

With that, possible enshrinement's might be finally made as the team will review their overall outlook and see and enjoy the improvement of their young players and continually search for the 'next one'.

For the fans, the team would like to say, 'thank you'. We were perennial contenders and as we've enjoyed continuous success, it might be time to for us to experience growing pains. We can make this quick but let's all be patient in the process.
