Off To A Good Start

Last night, at 5:00 pm pacific time, The Lebrons played a scrimmage against Can You Hear It? They won handily, 110-77. Rumors say that Can You Hear It, only played their backups. Regardless of that, Newcomer Javier Lagos Mellado teamed up with Ron Yates to control the boards. Javier bested Ron by a little bit. Javier had 23 rebounds and 31 points. Ron had 22 rebounds and 14 points. Both played very well, and I have great expectations for that duo.

This game made The Lebrons realize just how much they need backups. Their starters only played 28-32min with the exception of Javier Lagos Mellado.(he's everywhere!) If it hadn't been for Javier and the fact that Can You Hear it only played five people, The opposing team would have crushed our backups. This made it very clear that The Lebrons need more Depth.

Leading scorers for The Lebrons were Javier Lagos Mellado, Andoni Jugón, and Ron Yates. They combined for 68 of The Lebrons' 110 points. Gürbüz Duruhan had his lowest scoring game to date, dropping only 7 points with 5 assists in 29 minutes of play. His 12.5 rating contradicts his scoring, so The Lebrons are happy with his performance despite the low scoring. PGs Francisco Jesús Parrado, and Garifallos Vourousis played pretty decently. Francisco managed to drop 8 points and 4 assists, and Garifallos got 11 points and 3 assists.

This game proved a lot of The Lebrons hopes, dreams, expectations, and unfortunately, some of their worries. They are worried about their depth. 5 starters and one backup is not competitive enough for division 4. They were hoping that this year would be the year that PF Ron Yates finally explodes into action. After three years of training, The Lebrons believe Ron is ready. They had also hoped that Gürbüz Duruhan would be an unstoppable scoring machine, but after a 7 point performance, The Lebrons are worried. They will have to make some changes, and learn to be more patient.
