Press Announcements

In or Out

Final Four finally came.

Misr vs Ghana, Nigeria vs South Africa: only one winner, only two at the world cup next season. We closed the double round with 9-4 record, definitely not bad considering 2 losses against Nigeria powerhouse (1 at OT, 1 on the last shot), 2 against undefeated Misr (not far in both matches, one with different attitude). And

With some luck or some different choices we could have won may be one or even two more matches. But nothing would have changed: same semifinals, but with worse TS. And just twice we won with less of 20 points gap: against Tounes in week 3 (98-86), and against Ghana in week 6 (100-81). In all other cases we won with 30+ points.

Our roster expanded over time, with a bunch of 20'ers and even a 19'er, that will assure continuity next season(s). We are working more on scouting, that we had to rebuild after coach change. We achieved the goal to grow in skills and depth, although not all managers worked with same focus. Not to be blamed, especially foreigners, and we partly compensated them with other laser focused managers who gave us major contributions.

My team and me are working hard to set next gameplan. Next Friday, no more chance of revenge. Will it be the third unfortunate loss against Nigeria, or we finally turn our chance? Don't miss the match!!!! And bring your vuvuzelas, we cannot miss them!

Meanwhile, for the first time a cup will be added to South Africa showcase. I am proud of it. It is now question to decide which metal.
