Obviously the Cutters Nation has been on high alert following the news that Cutter Rafael Gavin was not dressed for the Cutters Saturday game. Rumors have been circulating that the legend Cutter has tested positive for the 4th time for a controlled substance. Gavin's woes continue on top of his recently announced divorce from his wife of 2 years, Lola.
Lola Gavin was asked recently about her husband and his current state of mind:
"Rafael is going through a tough time". "He needs his friends, family, and teammates right now, more than ever".
As recently as last Thursday night, Gavin was spotted in Las Vegas at the Wynn Casino and Resort, sporting three young ladies by his side. He was said to have lost "somewhere in the high six figures" on the craps table. It is undetermined whether or not Gavin has actually left Las Vegas or not.
In other news:
Igor Kolodin speaks out regarding his snubbing from national media attention following his blazing start to the season:
"Well.. I guess I am good enough to be ranked #175 in the World in scoring, but not good enough to even be mentioned by some local media outlets about my season so far". "Thats fine.. the people will vote for the All-Star game". "I am fully expecting to get a bid this year". "Let the critics do what they do".
Igor also had a few choice comment for the teams leader, Gavin:
"Rafie needs to pull his head out of his a** and get it together". "He can spend the rest of his life after basketball hitting the pipe and chasing girls". "We need him now.. as a leader... obviously his behavior is a distraction to this team". "I didnt come to this team to team to be a loser". "Dont look much further than him when you look at our 1-2 start this season".
Coach Wem speaks out regarding his guard play:
"Kerns needs to get it done". "We are not afraid of making a move if he cant work it out". "We have plenty of cash to make a move, and we will". "Obviously our first choice is to make it work with the players that we have". "Kerns.. and Mills for that matter, need to step up".
Coach Wem of the Gavin situation:
"Really, I have no comment". "We are not sure, at all.. uh.. um... well.. about the allegations of his alleged drug usage". "At this point.. uh.. um.. we have no real comment to make other than wishing Raphie well during this tough period of his.. uh.. life".
When asked about the alleged binge in Las Vegas following the teams Thursday night game:
"We all blow of steam in different ways..". "I think Raphie was blowing off some steam". "Obviously.. it.. uh.. well.. is not maybe the best way to blow of steam, uh.. though".
On Rumors of the team and franchise move from Indianapolis:
Coach Wem: "Just not true". "There are no talks... uh.. whatsoever, about this team leaving this great city".
When pressed about the lagging game attendance:
Coach Wem: "The people need to come out and support us.. uh... um.. we are playing harder now". "Lets get behind this team and.. uh.. .. uh.. keep in mind the playoffs are not out of the.. uh.. question for this team". "Kolodin sure is fun to watch". "If you havent seen him yet.. uh.. live, and in person... well.. uh.. you need to see this for yourself".
