MAULERS GET BUZZERBEATIN' !

Going into their second league game of the season, the Rouge et Or weren’t sure what to expect? Knowing they were the severe underdog against the higher rated and more experienced Maulers team, they decided to sit out their twin towers of Prego and Gravel. Without those two beasts, it was apparent earlier in the game, that the team would be outrebounded. But as they’ve shown so far this early in the season, the Rouge et Or have been surprising. They shot out of the gates, and took a 22-18 first quarter lead.

Remember that skill and experience that was previously mentioned? Well that caught up to the Rouge et Or in the second quarter and the Maulers never looked back... until the last shot of the game... when Mr. Clutch Rodrigo Brenta scored a 3 pointer at the buzzer and erased a 14 point fourth quarter deficit!! FINAL SCORE : ROUGE ET OR 87 MAULERS 86. What an exciting fourth quarter finish enjoyed by GM Morwood and new adorning fan and GM of the Toronto Raptors 9 team. Truth be told, Brenta was just vying for more poutine, this time he definitely earned a lifetime supply. Stay tuned till next time to see how the Rouge et Or do in their first Cup tournament match.
