England finish strong for win in final qualifier

England salvaged some pride from a poor campaign this afternoon, coming back strongly to defeat Austria.

Down by nine at half time, it looked grim for ElMacca's boys but the squad dug deep and came out firing in the second half, winning the thrid and fourth quarters comfortably to secure an eight point victory margin.

Eric Shelden was the side's standout performer, although a number of players made good defensive contributions off the bench to starve Austria of momentum.

"A win is a win, and it's good to finish with a win," commented coach Elmacca. "Lessons have been learnt and we will start to plan for the next campaign tomorrow," he added.
