Rebels open Season 67 with win!!

The Hendersonville Rebels got off to a strong start tonight with a big division win against the Cal Bulldogs, one of the stronger teams in the league. Led by franchise superstar Jimmy "The" Proffit, who had 21 points and 17 Rebounds and shot 50% from the field, the Rebels battles from behind throughout the first half. In the second half they managed to grab a lead that they were never to relinquish and outlasted Cal 103-97. Oscar Drabkis led the Rebels in scoring with 22 points and also added 13 Rebounds. Moshe Skut came off the bench and had a solid night including some timely buckets that gave the Rebs a push when they needed it most. Shut finished with 8 points and 3 boards. Coach Dale Brown was happy with the teams effort and stressed that now it was time to get ready for the tough Monkeykid Maniacs as the Rebs go on the road Tueday night. There were 7873 fans at Big Lake Arena, and though the crowd was smaller than ownership had hoped for, they were loud and supportive.
