Jests Take Down Top Team

The New York Jests took down the #1 ranked Window Lickers last night at The Mecca, a game shown nationally televised. Foul trouble plagued the Lickers as starting Power Forward Marcinas Turovas ended the game on the bench and starting Center Aldo Angelo Demartini squeaked by with 5 fouls.

The Jests were led by leading scorer Gunnar Berg who put up 26 points and 10 rebounds including an clutch 8 for 10 from the line. Rex Perez also had a respectable game as he eased into a new starting roll. Rex put up a double-double with 13 points and a career high 21 rebounds.

The win was an important one for the Jests to remain in the playoff race and bucked the trend of teams rolling over for number one seeds. The Jests have now won 3 out of 4 games against #1 ranked teams in the regular season, including 2 out of 3 against the Window Lickers.

Nice game, and the win was well-deserved. I expected to lose, or maybe squeak-out a win, but I didn't expect to lose by 21pts. The 4th quarter was a disaster for me, maybe because Turovas fouled out. I should have went with LI instead of LP, but it probably wouldn't have made a difference.

Thanks. Yeah getting you into foul trouble and being at home certainly helped.
