HOT OFF THE PRESS
The Irish u21 competitive season has come to a beautiful end. After qualifying for the knockout tournament with a 5-3 record including a hugely impressive win against 30th ranked Iran, the Paddies lost to a supreme Slovenia again in the knockout stage. The loss was taken with heads held high as the Irish faithful showed their absolute admiration for the efforts and progress the team have made and have again climbed to the top 50 in the world again as they’re ranked 49th at this time.

The current coach is one of two coaches to have maintained a winning record, with possibility of moving to the best overall record of an Irish u21 coach. However, a team is only as good as the players on the team and this squad is brimming with talent and especially for next year. With the season ending it’s time to wave goodbye again to the graduating U21s. Receiving special recognition is the fantastic Captain Karl Connoly who is currently top scorer and filling the impossible position of SF, Scott “The hots” Lynch at SG who has led by example of the standard of what SG should pertain. Other worthy mentions include the biggie smalls of Ty “dye” Synnott and Micah “Golden Nugget” Nugent. Here is the full list of graduates:
Eddie Dowdall (49325052)
Karl Connolly (49325044)
Walter MacCormack (49325007)
Steve Conaghan (49324894)
Ty Synnott (49038448)
Scott Lynch (48935924)
Marcel Galway (48935915)
Miah Nugent (49038464)
Lionel Doran (49324880)

Looking forward the Irish guards of Stephen, James and Nick are looking forward to an electrifying partnership, and inside players such and Kev and Anto and John to intimidate the paint of all countries.
