Group play: Singapore

Our coverage of the events for opening night start with the players and staff exiting their flight. The players looking dapper and debonair looking loose and relaxed. The coaches looking stressed and concerned. Cue to the evenings opening theme and a montage of various slow motion clips of the players in action with their home clubs.

Announcer(in English): Tonight from the land of the rising sun comes a new era in the U21 program as surprise selection for manager Coachlambini brings his charges into the fray for opening night action in pool play. Optimism abounds as though the numbers of prospects are small the potential is boundless and a draw where they avoid many of the stalwarts of the reigon provides hope for a strong start.

The first step however is always the most difficult. And though Singapore has a much lighter perception in terms of world rank they have a very dangerous club that matches up well in many areas. For both teams a win in the opener is crucial to setting the table for the rest of this first stage. Expectations for Nippon are modest overall but high for getting past the initial phase, but with every game critical they can I'll afford to stub their toe. Well tonight we find out a lot about where this team stands.

Post script: in the pre Dawn here in the US I was heading out to start my day, but I was not paying close attention as i was deep in thought over a quandry with y eork and all of a sudden I notice I am in the neighbors yard. I took a poor choice trying to turn around and got myself stuck in a ditch ! Pretty much sums up what just happened here.
