At exactly 6:05 PM on July 4th, 2010, the Devil's Advocate organization made what is without question the dumbest transfer pick up in the club's 10 season history.
The team purchased eighteen year old phenom Mauro Da Ros
(14750087) for the ridiculous price of
$4,700,000.
What compelled the organization to go out and make this abominable purchase is still a mystery to team insiders and fans alike. Management is already set to bring in the "A" lawyers in case of any riot related injuries or fatalities among DA supporters. The only rumor currently circulating regarding this pick up is that general manager RiP has grown bored with the current team and their inability to compete with the very best in Canada. As absurd as it may seem, this pick up may be the initial effort to create a BBB caliber team that will come to fruition several seasons down the road.
The GM, president, PR-manager, team officials and anyone with a payed salary for that matter, have all declined to speak about the new acquisition. The only person who volunteered to do an interview was the president of the Essa Abu-Kaleel fan club. He had this to say:
"Yeah, people are angry. Yeah, there's going to be some rioting and burning of general manager RiP effigies. And yeah, the pick up of Da Ros will probably be the reason Devil's Advocate get relegated from the Naismith this season, but he's a great prospect. In fact, he's the best Season 12 draft pick to hit the TL in the entire BB world thus far. Sometimes you have to make hefty sacrifices in order to improve the future of the team. This doesn't seem to be one of those situations but I'm going to pretend it is."
