The Devil's Advocates are no more. The team is now officially under new management and their first order of action is to change the team name. After twelve great seasons of operating under the Devil's Advocates name, the team will now be known as the Philosopher Kings from this point forward.
The mystery surrounding the inexplicable abandonment of the team by its former owner, Boris Shashenkov, has finally been solved. It turns out that the PBC (Political Board of Correctness) had launched a lawsuit against the franchise for "advocating the devil". Rather than combat the suit, Shashenkov (who has a history of being sued) decided to take off to potentially avoid having to dole out any money. The PBC has announced it is now turning its efforts on the New Jersey Devils, Cleveland Indians and Washington Redskins.
Along with the name change, the Philosopher Kings have also decided to change their style of play. The goal is to keep the grit and defensive intensity from the DA way of playing but to add a new cerebral aspect to the game plan as well. New head coach Platistotle Nietzschegaard commented that, "It's not enough for a player to go out on the court and defend his man. He needs to ask himself what his opponent is doing, what his opponent is planning to do, what does it really mean to have an "opponent", and is there really even an opponent there?" To further increase their thinking skills, when the team is not playing they will be required to spend time pondering some of life's most difficult questions such as:
"Where's Waldo?"
"How can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat?" and
"Who shot Mr. Burns?"
When asked about the changes his organization has recently made Canadian U21 star Gerry Stavridis commented that he thinks the changes are "pretty, pretty, pretty good". The team is now expecting to be sued by HBO.
